1/5/13
Today was my first trail run. I figured that coming off the var/prov and starting PCT would cut my endurance and energy levels, but it turns out I couldn't possibly have been more wrong. The trail that I ran today is a six mile one that goes around a lake and then a one mile walk to go from the end of the trail back to the parking lot. The first half of the trail is much tougher terrain that the backside. It has lots of terrain changes - directions, incline/decline, sharp turns, narrow rugged paths, etc. The second half is more open and steady terrain.
Before today, my best time on the trail was a bit under 57 minutes. Today I did it in 51:53, shaving nearly five minutes off my time (close to a minute per mile). I don't know if the Var/Prov were decreasing my endurance and cardiovascular ability while upping my strength or if the ostarine and PCT supps/ancillaries are boosting my energy levels to help me push harder, but I felt great on the trail today and look forward to seeing it get even better as PCT continues. It should be even more amazing when the SARMs cycle starts and I add in the GW.
Tomorrow I will be doing my second lifting session and then hitting a different trail to put in some more miles, but this time I will be walking the trail instead of running it. Most of my cardio the last few months has been walking at a steady pace on an incline and I want to make sure I don't bring on any injuries by doing too much running too early in the year - need to give my body a chance to reacclimate to running, so I won't be running back to back days for another week or so.
As for my annual goal, the 7 miles I put in today puts me at 19 for the year. My goal requires that I put in just over 4.1 miles a day, so I'm ahead of pace by about 3 miles.
