A question to Restaurant owners and staff workers!!

Hi my girl friend just start work for a consept named Mulligans. It is a restaurant and pub consespt. She working there as a hostess/service girl. She run around all day. Taking orders and smiling and try to make everyone have a good time at Mulligans.

My question is this. Is it normal to share tips with the cashier and kitchen stafs. When u working like this ?? We live in Thailand and her selary is wery low already. She works 8 houers a day. And have 1 day of a week. And geting payd about 200$ a month.

And i not know if it is normal. To axept tips by hand around in this business ?? Here them kan not get tips by hand. And i think it is strange. Lets say a coustumar is happy with the srevice from 1 staf. And him/her want the staf to get tips by hand. Then them all have to share it.

Lets put it out in a difrent way. If i sit in a restaurant and someone smile and take care me alot. Then i feel happy and i want to give this person some extra tips. Specaly when i am here in Thiland or Asia. Because i know them is pore. But if i know them have to share it. then i will not give. Because no one realy did care me. Exept this one staf for xampel.

I forget to say one thing. Cashier and kitchen staf have higher selary then the hostesses. So i think it is strange them have to shere the tips with them.

Ok guys and girls hope u kan give me some inputs on this one.

Yes thats the worst part. Some of the staff members do nothing. And some run around all day. Smiling and take care all costumers. And some do not. Then i think it is unfair. That them kan not exept tips by hand... But is it normal to share tips with the cashair and kitchen staff ??
