Didn't happen to me, but a friend
So they my college was playing our great rivals. Of course, the two student sections are well-segregated to keep drunken idiots from beating each other.
Well, some drunk dudes from the other school (call them RED dudes b/c of school colors) stumble into our student section looking for trouble. BAD idea, we're known for having a very aggressive student section.
So these red guys are starting trouble. SO far no big deal, amazingly. Our students were pretty tame. Suddenly, some girl yells an insult at one of the red guys, and he slaps her. BIG MISTAKE.
Immediately teh boyfriend and his friend are up in their faces. Pushing etc. Things are escalating to blows. A security guard runs in, and in his drunken idiocy one of the red dudes punches the security guard in the face. SECOND BIG MISTAKE. At this point the multitudes fall upon them, including my buddy and more security guards.
At one point my buddy squared off with a drunken red guy. The guy moves to give him a haymaker. My buddy closes the distance such that the punch lands behind his head, and immediately elbows the guy in the face, busting his lip open. Then without hesitation m y friend gets between the guy he JUST HIT and the multitudes, saying "break it up guys, break it up."
The dude was so dazed and drunk that he didn't even know who hit him, he thought it was one of the guys behind my friend. they all got arrested.
and SKOOLED them in football.
so, props to my buddy, i wouldn't think to use an elbow strike.
