Anyone else get a letter about chairman of the board membership. It was extremely expensive IMO. $900 smackers, wow. I'm not a control freak so I don't think I need some of hte options and perks of having that membership. Maybe I'll change my mind who knows.

Big deal...Theres plenty of other BB sites around that dont charge (for example) to preview posts when you click on the link. And to the dude who reckons i must be 10 for not realising this about Elite(actually using a comment like that makes YOU sound 10 mate), its more to do with the fact i dont spend THAT much time on here, and have only reallt cottoned onto the capitalistic flavour since the whole Satch/Indy/Radar thing recently. But hey, if you guys are happy to pay it then i guess its all good eh?.

I remember you saying the same thing before. If you check your karma messages you will see the same thing about two weeks ago, where I said to you "It's good to wake up, isn't it?". You're just not very quick minded.

What I don't understand is why you keep complaining. You're not paying anything and neither am I, so why are you whinining? Go elsewhere if it bothers you. And I go to all the other forums as well as this one once in a blue moon. I don't see how the economic opportunism of this board affects you in any way, shape or form except for the dashed idealism of a ten-year-old.
 
George any way to make the membership more affordable. Or is the amount of money suppose to deter certain people away. Kinda like uppity bars do when they charge $5 for a beer, its to keep the human garbage out of their bar.

First of all, i don't "keep complaining", You try to make it sound like thats all ive ever done on Elite, still if exaggeration helps your argument then you carry on....

And i dont see how me mentioning my surprise at realising Elite is all about the $ "affects you in any way, shape or form" Either. Fact is, i never said it did affect me at all, does it have to in order for me to post about it?

Chairman of the board is not for everyone...as GS stated not EVERYONE got a letter...i think he just sent it to the people who have spent a good amount of money here...

really depends on whats important to you, and your financial means. people pay a lot more for things that other people can not see the value in like some people cannot see the value in paying a couple grand to see a single boxing match. Its also a contribution really to keep the board expanding and running.

for some people 900$ is an evening out, for others its their monthly income.

I thought it was a joke when i first saw that price. I like coming on here and shooting the shit with everyone and hopefully sometimes helping a few of the guy's but i can't see paying $900 buck's to do it,i'm sure they have a neat secret little chat forum though.

It is invite only :) so you do get a lot more features and information - things others have no access to. Keep in mind, it's elitefitness - the best fitness and bodybuilding website on the internet, so it's worth every penny IMO.

Actually, just to clarify, the Chairman Membership costs $1200 a year, not $900 and this is a small fraction of what sponsors pay. Only about 34 members were invited to join and you must be personally invited to be a Chairman Member. About half of those 34 invited, I deemed so important to the growth and future development of the site that I gave them a discount certificate to take $300 off the first year's price for being a charter Chairman Member. I have a 4 yr old little girl that sometimes is a bit too helpful will house cleaning. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the letter. If you could email me at my ef account the info again, I'll take a closer look. To be honest when I saw the $900, I just set it on the table and didn't give it another look. If it truly helps the site grow, and not people's wallets, I'll take a closer look into it. PS my address has changed and I need to update my personal info, but can't find that section. Thanks

Hate to go against the big guy here but if you have deemed some people so important to this site. Why should they have to pay for anything if there helping your business grow?

im new here, so mabe my opinion doesnt count. but i truly believe this website has helped me very much. im sure, that to many, it has helped them change theire lives. the information here is incredible, and the people that help make it improve are all good guys in my book. i guess i sound like a hypocrite, since im not a platinum member, but i shall be one soon enough. best of luck to the site, hope it keeps educating those willing to learn.

Simple, we need the money.

And in exchange, we want to reward our best members with the ultimate in features and prestige. I also want their feedback on how this place is run. There are 12 opinions on how I should do things from every 10 members. If someone has invested $1200 a year to support this site and to get the best experience that the site can offer, then I think his opinion should carry a little more weight. That's not to say that everyone here is not important.

I hope you offered this to Sassy69. The women's boards have so many fabulous members but IMO she's stood out from day 1. Her dedication to the members and to the site seems boundless. Just my opinion though.

Im not "knocking" cboogsrun at all here, but why in the hell would he be considered for this? MANY MANY more have been here longer, have more karma, more posts, and i haven't even heard of him before?

I'm BOOGS nice to meet you sir. I would imagine people who have spent the most on this board probably got the letters. I have bought ebooks and some other shit. I would agree with you 100% about who got selected. I have applied knowledge on these subjects not much text knowledge. There are some bros here, who have biology degrees and med degrees who would be far more suited with the prestigeous COB membership. Because I don't believe I was picked for my ability to contribute knowledge to other members, I won't be spending $900 a year on a powertrip membership. You can knock me, my feelings won't get hurt. LOL
