7 passenger vehicle suggestions

shirlene29

I am BATMAN!
Platinum
EF VIP
lets hear em

this is what I can think of off the top of my head

volvo xc70 or xc90
escalade
navigator
caravan
odyssey
highlander? does this come in a 7 seater configuration?

what else is there..other than say conversion vans or those vans with like 5 bench seats...lol

Had an '07 Odyssey and it sucked in the snow. Now have a Sienna (AWD) and love it. Since Dodge bowed out, Sienna's the only AWD minivan left.

I think 7 can fit in the Highlander but with the 3rd row seat open, there's almost no cargo room. Same goes for the Pilot.

every time you post this I recommend the MDX. But you seem to have the vulva stuck in your brain, so...

have I posted this before?? fuck...sorry

I live in bimmer, mercedes and volvo country...sorry :(

edited for idiocy...

yeah ...awd is pretty key I think..Im tryin to decide if I just wanna make do with the ext cab truck...take my normal driver if I only have to ferry two ...the truck if I have everyone

Fist decide if fuel cost is a big issue

it shouldn't be bill..not for the majority of my driving otherwise I wouldn't consider just driving the truck if I have everyone...its a 2500 dodge ram ext cab...weighs a ton and drinks a lot of gas

I guess ride comfort, size and ability to handle weekly snow storms (effin winter) are the big ones

If fuel is not a problem, I would look for a Sequoia. They will go for a 200k miles plus...stepping down would be the 4 Runner 4x4.

Escalade is way wigger and get stolen all the time.

Navigator beer bongs fuel beyond what anyone other than a rich man can afford.

Oddessy and Caravan are very soccer Mom if you can handle that.

XC90 is a good car. Depreciates fast so maybe able to get a good used one at a reasonable price.

IMHO

yeah, the yukon, tahoe, suburban line up was a pretty popular vehicle at the shop I worked at...some of em had over 250k on em

I had considered adoption/roadster a few times(almost daily)..good suggestions

that's knot really true...I've seen GM's run just as long if not longer than toyotas.

Toyota costs more too. :)

Probably right. I had 110k miles on my. Little stuff started going wrong and it seemed like everytime I took it to the shop it was $1,000. That is when my "time to sell" alarm goes off.

You're just in luck shirlz! I have this really sweet van for sale. $1000 cash and it's yours.

X5
Audi Q7
Porsche Cayenne
and any other high priced cars you want to add for kak sizing

x5 isa toilet

and I included a caravan and an odyssey in my original list...geez

the mdx looked like it had zero leg room...yey ney?

in the 3rd row? Hell I don't know, I've never sat in it. Only time I think it was even opened was at the dealer.

The acura's 3rd row is worthless IMO. Built for tiny asians

It's built for KIDS! Who the fuck you think is going to be sitting in third rows of mid-size SUVs? NBA players?

*insert facepalm pic here*

Every Shirl thread is epic facepalm

no, I meant the front seats...the dealership pics I checked out looked tiny in the front

Depends if you want a mini-van type thing, or an SUV... My mother-in-law is getting ready to replace her MBZ MLK, and she's looking at the Buick Enclave. I think it's 7/8 passenger depending on the rear 3rd seat, if I'm correct. And it's on a car chassis; not a truck like the Escalade or Yukon. It's priced right, and seems to have the best repair record of any of the mid-size SUVs outside of Lexus. Bad resale value, but that's another thing altogether. Use it in your favor and get one that's 10K miles and a year old, and save $10K.

It's actually based upon the 2nd row seating arrangement. Depending if you get rear buckets or the bench.

The enclave is the exact same thing as the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook, Chevy Traverse.

I'm on my 2nd Escalade, the first was a really good car, didn't spend but 300.00 on it for maintance other than oil, tires, etc. The inside could have taken wear better, but we live in the damn thing for 10 months during son's baseball seasons.
I just bought a new one a month ago, it gets 12-16 mpg, got black interior this time to see if it stays cleaner looking longer. We don't have snow much in Central Tx, but the ice I've driven through wasn't a problem. My wife even commented once when she was driving and it was slick that if felt like it was "stuck" to the road. lol I have yet to find something as comfortable for the money, it has so many whistles and bells that I'll never learn how to use most of them. I do like the back-up camera and the "blind spot" indicater that shows when a car comes up beside you, that's a cool feature too. Oh, and remote start for in the mornings, I like that as well.....

yeah, I had an escalade as a demo and other than one hairy incident on the highway where I was going way wayyyyyy too fast for such a top heavy vehicle..I really liked it
my older two (my youngest wasnt born yet) really liked the heated seats in the back as well
it wouldn't stand out as wigger around here at all....so thats not a factor

I seriously only drive like 100-200 miles a week so gas isn't a huge factor...I was lookin at some used escalade and and they seeemed to be still pretty pricey
I gotta look more to see what drive train theyre runnin because I just don't remember

yeah I just found an 07' at a local dealership with 67k on it for 30k

what do you know about the 6.2?

It's a good motor...not the best on fuel though.

I almost bought an escalade for the wifey a couple weeks ago which is why I know what they're bringing at auction because I've been watching them.

You can save some coin and go with the Denali and have pretty much the exact same thing. The only difference that I know of is I don't think the Denali's have air conditioned seats like the escalades do.

yeah, I was just eyeballin the Denali...

heated mirrors are a given on these things right? cuz I dont see it mentioned in most ads

those things are actually SWEET inside...we had one at the shop getting exhaust work done and it was crazy inside..not what youd expect

tiny ass lil asian kids.

No fuckin way my son is fitting back there.

Shirl, I'm 6'2" and I fit in the front or back just fine.

Mitch, my son is half asian/whitey and he is in the 85th-90th percentile for height for his age.

I'd throttle the shit out of kids if I had any of my own. Luck for me I'm sterile and circumcised.

I just looked at a 2010 Denali pick up and it did have A/C seats.
I like the 6.2 motor too

you think the 6.2 is better over the 6.0

the husband seems to be really leanin towards the escalade

My dad just bought a new SLT with a 5.3. It's so fucking sweet.

I tried talking him into buying the Denali but he said it was too fancy lol

Why get an escalade when you can get the yukon, suburban, etc.. that is the same vehicle without the cadillac badging? My roomates escalade isn't that great plus the parts and maintenance are way higher than on my suburban. Plus my burban has nearly 200,000 miles on it and still runs great.

I was just expounding on that very point.

My roomate bought because well he's mexican. Thing has huge rims, 9 tv's, outlandish stereo, ground effects, and limo tinted windows. In other words a huge waste of about $70,000.

you mean depending on if he's been working out or not...

lolol..same thing I was thinkin when I was typin it out
srsly tho his medical records always have one or the other and I really have no idea which is actually correct...its an inch

why would suburban parts be less than escalade parts??? I thought they were the same drivetrain?

I haven't actually been to keen on suburban in particular because they weem heavily abused around here and I'll be looking at used...

I actually found an 03' sclade today for pretty cheap with 60k on it...intensely curious to go look at it if it ever stops snowing

Used Suburbans often lived a life of pseudo truck duty, while Escalades more times than knot are relegated to soccer mom duties

I disagree...

You're not looking for a stripped down base model....If you got an LTZ Suburban it's going to be used exactly as the denali or escalade was.

you make a good point....

I think maybe my opinion on it is colored by the fact the ex husband has a loaded suburban thats been worked to death and is just a toilet..

I'll check it out tho...I did investigate the denalis today and found a few for more $$$ than comparable escalades...was kinda surprised by that

Personally I can't stand the look of suburbans...

That longer wheel base just makes them look like a school bus or something.

Same reason that:
Audi parts are more expensive than VW parts
Acura parts are more expensive than Honda parts
Lexus parts are more expensive than Toyota parts

Although all those vehicles roll of the same assembly lines the name badging dictates more expensive parts and service. If my roomates headlights go out on the esco it's a $500 fix according to the dealership. Just things to think over especially with a used vehicle is what do repairs cost and how much are parts for a DIYer.

ahh, but I get parts for anything at cost through the shop...plus mechanics thats will do anything for me...so it wont have any badging to inflate its price

I agree with the wheel base length thing...I didnt know it was actually longer..I was thinkin it was optical illusion and I was bein silly thinkin it looked like a special ed van
