Baltimore (14-15) at Texas (16-12) 8:05 pm EDT

ARLINGTON, Texas (Ticker) -- The Texas Rangers rapidly are becoming the team to beat in the American League West Division.

The Rangers will seek a sixth straight win Thursday, when they host the finale of a two-game series against the Baltimore Orioles.

Mark DeRosa gave Texas a 2-1 win in Wednesday's series opener with a one-out home run in the 12th inning. It was the 14th win in 18 games for the Rangers, who have climbed to the top of the division after a 2-8 start.

Texas will look to improve upon a 7-2 mark against teams from the AL East Division behind Kevin Millwood (2-2, 3.89 ERA), who is seeking his first career win at Ameriquest Field. The reigning AL ERA champion, Millwood has gone 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA in three starts here since signing a five-year contract worth $60 million in the offseason.

After losing his first two starts with the Rangers, Millwood has gone 2-0 with a 2.42 ERA in his last four outings. He will look to extend the recent strong starting pitching exhibited by Texas, which has received a 6-0 record and a 3.17 ERA from its rotation in the last 16 games.

Millwood has gone 2-2 with a 5.51 ERA in five lifetime starts against the Orioles, who have lost 20 of the last 29 meetings with the Rangers since the beginning of the 2000 season. Baltimore enters Thursday with eight losses in its last 11 games overall.

The Orioles will counter with Bruce Chen (0-3, 7.27), who has not recorded a quality start in his first five outings this season. Chen had five quality starts in his first six outings of 2005.

Chen allowed two runs and five hits in six innings of a 10-5 win here on August 5.
