Marlins try to play spoiler for Philadelphia and Myers

The Phillies want to avoid a repeat of last game's result - a 4-3 loss to the Marlins - when they host the Marlins on Saturday. They hope Brett Myers can be the skid-stopper for them.

Sporting a 6-10 overall record and a 3-4 mark within the division, the Phillies aim to knock the Marlins (2-4 in the division) for a loss.

The Phillies are a huge favorite, but offer the temptation for dog bettors to collect big if they can win despite the 215. The Marlins, with a 5-10 mark on the season, look to bite as a big road dog in a game that saw the total open at 9.

Joe Girardi's team was busy last game winning against the Phillies 4-3 as underdogs. The 7 runs sent that game under the total of 10.

The Marlins need to cut down on the strikeouts and get some runners on base. They rank #14 in the league, whiffing 7.7 times per game. The hitters need to make some contact.

FLA: S. Mitre (1-1, 4.08)
PHI: B. Myers (1-0, 3.06)
