EDMONTON, Alberta (Ticker) - With their first road game in over a month looming, the Edmonton Oilers seek a third straight victory when they host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

The Oilers lost the first three legs of a five-game homestand that spanned the Olympic break before bouncing back to take 3-2 victories over San Jose and Nashville.

In Sunday's triumph over the Predators, Chris Pronger scored a power-play goal early in the third period to force overtime and recorded the game-winner with 53 seconds left in the extra session.

Ryan Smyth notched his 28th goal, also on the power play, in the first period and Ty Conklin stopped 18 shots as Edmonton thrived off a 42-20 advantage in shots on goal.

Similar to the Oilers, the Stars have recovered from a losing streak with consecutive wins, including an impressive 7-2 rout at Chicago on Sunday in the opener of a four-game road trip.

Dallas led, 3-0, less than 25 minutes into the game and took a 6-1 lead early in the third as it extended its unbeaten streak against the Blackhawks to 13 games (11-0-2).

Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow both had a goal and two assists and Jason Arnott tallied twice in the third period as the Stars improved to 19-8-2 on the road.

Dallas has won two of the first three meetings between the teams this season, including a 4-0 triumph in the last encounter November 7. Four different stars scored and Marty Turco made 16 saves to record one of his three shutouts this season.
