Hey all,
I have been on TRT for about a year now (I'm 29 and started with total T in the low 300s ng/dl) and have always had issues with gaining and maintaining until I went on TRT. Anyway, after getting a taste of the good stuff (weekly 160mg test cyp at a TRT clinic), I double dipped with my GP and stacked up to 450mg/week for 12 weeks. My diet was on point and I was taking 1-2mg Arimidex weekly to keep the E and bloat down. I shot up from 6ft 155lb 10% bf (a twig) to a shirt busting (for me) 180lb. For the first time in my life, I actually had a high sex drive and was killing it. It felt great. After the cycle (and the inevitable comedown), I stabilized my levels at TRT ones (around 800 ng/dl) and have been taking .5mg Adex to keep E2 around 30 pg/ml. Lipids and BP seemed fine and I did some cutting to bring the bf down to 8% (where I currently am and finally with an elusive six pack) at 165lb and kept 95% of my strength. I lean ectomorph so cutting has never been an issue for me. So far so good, right?
Well the one casualty of all this was my hair. I used to have NO signs of MPB before my cycle but by the end, there was noticeable thinning on the hairline. I knew this was a risk and I accept the results as I can probably get a small transplant to touch it up if I felt the need to. However, going forward I am going to be much more careful with how androgenic any cycles I do are. I tried taking some finasteride (Propecia) off cycle to see if I could tolerate it to protect my hair next cycle but no dice.... I woke up in a cold sweat the night after taking it with loss of circulation (very cold) in my hands and feet. In addition, I felt like I was having a panic attack as my DHT levels plummeted. Suffice to say, it was a hellish two weeks of recovery and that eliminated test cycles in my future unless I decide I no longer care about my hair....After doing some research, I decided against any orals to protect my liver and was also not willing to take something that will really screw with my lipids. I am not a professional here and this is strictly vanity so I am trying to keep the risks as low as can be expected given AAS usage. This left nandrolone (Deca) as the most reasonable option as it appears to be really mild on the lipids and obviously is safe on the liver given its injected (non alpha-alkylated). Now sure 'Deca Dick' is kinda scary but I can't help but feel this is for people that don't stack it with maintenance test (which I already do through TRT) and watch their prolactin/progesterone levels which I plan to manage with Cabergoline (I also have some Cialis on hand if it comes to that...) along with an AI for the 20% of nandrolone that does aromatase.
I am planning on a short cycle (6-8 weeks) so I would obviously be using the phenylpropionate ester of Deca (NPP) and would pin myself 3X/week with the many spare needles I have from TRT. I unfortunately am not sure where to procure such supplies reliably (without the risk of getting arrested) since all my supplies so far have been genuine pharmacy grade (that insurance paid for to boot) so I figured it was time to join the community and join the inevitable vetting process that comes with such things
Now, from what you read, I am curious if those sounds like a decent game plan? I do understand that some (many) of you might have objections to using AAS before you reach your 'plateau' but I can honestly say that the last cycle has been somewhat of a God send for me. I was motivated, focused, and bursting with confidence that I had never had before. In a few short months, I went from not even being able to really do a pull up to being what I would consider respectable at the gym. During this time, I had a trainer so that I learned proper form and technique using compound exercises and have really come a long way. Sure I could have done this natty but to be frank, I don't think I would have been so focused without those androgens blasting my brain like teenage hormones. And I DEFINITELY would not have had such a libido boost. I literally topped in 4 months the amount of women I had than the last 2-3 years (which admittedly I had a gf for quite a bit of).
If you made it this far, I really do appreciate it and am looking forward to learning from you guys. I have been getting some SLOW gains TRT with short bulks (1-2 months) followed by cuts since I am going to Brazil in a few months and really want to stay lean for that. Thus, the short cycle.
TL;DR: Did first test only cycle. Got good gains but lost some hair. Can't tolerate finasteride so looking to try DPP with maintenance TRT dose test. Good idea?
