28, Fit, T level 400, Solutions?

Hey everyone

Been lurking on here a while and learnt a ton so thanks.

I've pretty much tried everything I can naturally to solve this but I'm starting to think maybe low testosterone could be a problem for me.

So I've had my bloodwork done and my T level is 400 and I know it's not super low, but for a 28 yr old it should be <700 and I have a lot of symptoms of low T, depression, fatigue, disinterest in activities, cloudy thinking, I'm not that interested in sex and when I do my erections are not that hard.

(Note: the depression is not psychological, I've saw a shrink, meditate, do CBT and eat clean/exercise.

I have a perfect diet, and I mean perfect. Lots of good fats, green veg and good carbs.

I don't drink more than a few glasses of red wine a week and I'm cutting that out to see if it'll help

I take all the right sups, omega 3's, vit d, multivit, good gut bacteria program, zinc, magnesium,

I train HIIT

My body fat is pretty low

I don't really wanna go on TRT, having more T to build muscle would obviously be nice but I'd rather be naturally healthy and happy, but if it got rid of the symptoms above it might be worth it. I've tried so many things to cure these symptoms.

Is there advice people could give me.

Try hcg and clomid therapy before trt, I'm a year younger and have test lower then 203. Just started trt, but afraid of infertility,

I'm 29 and these are the symptoms I have had for the past 2 or 3 years they have been slowly getting worse.

Cant maintain good erections, plus no morning wood. Loss of interest in sex/ no sex drive. Constant fatigue feelings of tiredness needing to sleep. Mood swings iritability and anger. Bleak outlook on life, depression, depressed mood. Poor memory concentration and mind fog. Also I didnt realise it until now but I have been getting hot flushes.

These are all classic low t symptoms and you have them. I got my total test done a couple of months ago and it was in the mid 500's my doc told me that my t was fine. Got a new doc and made him test my free t had to practically beg him to do this.

Results came back at 201 pmol/L ref range (225-725) no wonder im having all these symptoms.

Get the rest of your hormone profiles checked with bloods if you haven't already done this: total and free t, estradiol (E2), shbg, albumin, FSH, LH, full thyroid profile including T3 and T4.

My Total test is normal but SHBG was high which binds testosterone and decreases free test. Your case could be similar.

At this point in time I am so sick of being "natural" my quality of life is shi!. If I don't get on trt soon I will self medicate. Good luck on your journey brother pm me if you want some more info.

why would you go on trt when test levels are? you will still have low free test on trt! you need to fix your SHBG issue, adding exogenous test will only make the issue worse. don't make a stupid decision. FYI im on trt and my total test was lower than your free test...

Thanks bigorse. I have been doing more reading. My labs were similar to the OP.

TT 461
Shbg 69 (11-71)
Free-t 201 pmol/L (225-725)
FSH 15 (<7)
LH 6.3 (<7)
E2 95 (<150)

So probably not the best idea to start TRT when TT is still within normal range.

From what I have read taking 50mg ED of Proviron should lower my SHBG, increase free test and not shut down endogenous test production?

yes something like that is good, i would probably opt for like 50mg first thing in the morning eod and access from there. talk to your doc about it though as you may experience some shut down from proviron and there may be a way to fix without any steroid use. hope that helps
