1970's...

Buddah

New member
Hey Iam a newb here.
I have always wondered what kind of products the bodybuilders of the 1970's took, does anyone know for sure what guys like Arnold, Franco, and Ferrigno were taking.
Im kind of interested to know, I have always heard dianabol, but kind of wanting to know for sure.

Thanks.

So what is making the bodybuilders nowdays so much bigger then the BB's of the 70's if they used the same things?
Iam their gear wasn't as advanced as it was nowadays.

GH... gh... HGH.. and better nutrition

I'm not so sure the nutrition is any better. Supplementation, yeah, but mosr pros don't rely too heavily on that.

GH is a small factor -- Insulin a bigger one. But I think the main thing is more "big guys" are into it. The gene pool is simply improved. Plus they take a LOT more gear. A LOT more.

And of course, (and this ight seem as metaphysical as psychological) once it's possible to jump ten feet, it becomes easier for others to jump eleven.

By the 70's, all the injections were there ... test, nand in all flavors. No big penalties and lots of pharm grade availability. And the orals.

The real beginnings were the 60's.
I was there and saw lots of orals ... ana, dbol, stanz
Then came a few injections ... test and deca.
Lots of ignorance and trial and error.
Low dosages.

I agree. I think body building has drawn a much larger crowd of people, plus much larger doses of gear. Slin and GH have added huge size gains and were not used back in the day. I think people looked better in the 70's. Much leaner, less bloat. But that is my personal opinion.

I agree with this statement.

Thanks for all the replies, its pretty interesting stuff.
I also heard Arnold's first dose of gear was when he was in the army, so this means he started under the age of 21?
