After a rare seven-goal performance last game against the Predators, the Florida Panthers hope to keep the offence coming when they host the Devils on Thursday.
Sporting a 21-9-2 overall record and an 8-1-0 mark within the division, the Red Wings aim to knock the Panthers (4-4-0 in the division) for a loss.
The Panthers are favored, opening as 175 chalk, with an opening total of 6. They are 10-18-4 this season and 16-15-1 OU. The Red Wings are 21-9-2 and are 15-16-1 OU.
Last time out, at Philips Arena against Atlanta, the Red Wings as favorites lost to the Thrashers 7-6. The game was an over play.
Jacques Martin's troops were at home against the Predators last game and came away with a 7-3 win, a game that went over 5.5. Oddsmakers had them as 125 money line underdogs in that one.
You can't expect much in the way of offensive fireworks from Florida. Saddled with the 28th-ranked offence and averaging just 2.6 goals per game the Panthers' offence needs to give its defensive unit some help Thursday in order to have a chance against the Red Wings.
Some trends to consider:
Detroit is 6-2-0 SU in its last 8 games after scoring 5 to 6 goals
Detroit is 5-1-0 OU in its last 6 away
Florida is 5-1-0 OU in its last 6 games
Florida is 4-2-0 OU in its last 6 at home

Florida at Atlanta, Saturday, December 17
