10/13 NCAAf Texas A&M @ Texas Tech

No matter how bad it may seem for Texas A&M, the Aggies seem to know what to do to bounce back.

But they may not want to get in that position against Texas Tech.
A&M (5-1, 2-0 Big 12) will try to secure another conference victory against Tech (5-1, 1-1) to keep a comfortable lead over the Red Raiders, Cowboys and Sooners in the Big 12 South division.

The Aggies used 24 second-half points to secure a win over Oklahoma State last week. The Cowboys led A&M 17-0 at halftime and were held to two field goals in the final two quarters. The win left A&M as the only 2-0 team in the Big 12 South.

Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione said his team will have a tough test ahead playing four teams in the top 25. Scoring 52 points per game and getting around 600 yards per game, Tech is dangerous.

"I think they're a good solid club and we've got our work cut out for us," he said. "We're going to have to make them miss some turns with our defense and have to be on offensively and move the football. We about had the perfect script working for us last year and we just didn't get it done and we've got to do it just a little bit better."

Offensively, Tech ranks first in the nation in passing yards per game, total offense, total passing yards and scoring. A&M's defense is ranked 75th in passing defense, allowing more than 237 yards through the air each game.

Linebacker Mark Dodge said the team was fortunate to see a similar offense in Baylor before facing Tech this season. Colorado used a similar philosophy in games with the Bears and Red Raiders last season. CU won 30-6 against Tech.

"They have great wide receivers and run real precise routes," he said. "I think we're going to have to come out and really focus on breaking on the football and breaking up and making them run shorter routes and not let the big plays happen."
