33 Years Old, 6’0”, 210 lbs – Need Honest Advice Before I Make a Mistake

I figured I'd finally make a post instead of spending hours going down YouTube rabbit holes. I'm 33 years old, 6'0", and around 210 lbs. Most of my body fat is carried in my stomach, and no matter what I seem to do, that's the area that refuses to change. I've been lifting consistently, but I don't feel like I'm making much progress. My strength goes up a little here and there, but visually I don't see the muscle gains I'd expect.

I'm just an average guy working a regular dead-end job, trying to better myself and improve my health and confidence. I've done a lot of research, but the more I read and watch, the more conflicting information I find.

I'll be honest—I have considered TRT, but I'm hesitant because I don't want to commit to being on it for the rest of my life unless it's something I truly need. I've also looked into mild anabolic cycles. I understand they come with risks, and I'm not looking for someone to tell me they're completely safe. I'm just trying to figure out the smartest way to jump-start my journey if I decide to go that route.

Before making any decisions, I'm planning to get a full set of blood work done, and once I have the results, I'll post them here for feedback.

In the meantime, I'd appreciate advice from people who have actually been in my shoes. If you were starting over at my age and my stats, what would you focus on first? Nutrition? Training? Cardio? Blood work? Supplements? Or would you tell me to avoid PEDs entirely until I have everything else dialed in?

I'm here to learn, so I appreciate any honest advice. Thanks in advance.

Hey bro, welcome to EF!

First big thing that has stuck out for me in everything you’ve written - you mention belly fat not changing, yet you haven’t mentioned your diet or macros at all.

If losing fat in your midsection is all you are looking for and you are concerned about pinning for the rest of your life, I’d look more at sticking to a consistent diet and following set macros for a period of time.

At 33 even a mild anabolic cycle, you are putting yourself at risk of having to pin for the rest of your life and if you are unsure you are able to do that, then steer clear completely.

Getting bloodwork done is a great way to see where all your levels are at and a great starting point. Like I mentioned though, you didn’t state anything about what your diet or macros are like, which indicates to me that it’s not something you atleast consistently track.

Sorry, I'm new to all of this. My diet actually sucks because I'm allergic to chicken, turkey, and fish, so I'm pretty limited on what I can eat. I'm not very knowledgeable about calories and macros. I understand the idea of being in a calorie deficit, but I've never really taken the time to learn how to track everything consistently.

I'm not just looking to lose fat—I want to build muscle too. I'd like to have a bigger chest, bigger arms, and bigger legs and actually look like I lift. That's why I came here. I'd rather get advice from people with real experience than listen to content creators who are just trying to sell a $1,000 coaching program.

Welcome to EF and having the stones to post honestly. @ChewedSleek is spot on here. You're in your prime. Get your labs, but if levels don't support TRT do not do TRT. Belly fat is the hardest to get rid of, and often the last place fat comes off your body. It will take 100% effort focused on your diet.
There are some great resources here on EF & some peeps that have a wealth of knowledge. I'd consider trying SARMs and peptides to supplement your diet. Put your mind to it & do the work! All the best!

Once I get my labs done I’ll post them. I really don’t know how to read them but hopefully someone can walk me through it. I was looking at peps but from what I read it’s so many fake sites I haven’t even tried to order any.

What's up brother, first off 33 is incredibly young, you got a lot of time to experiment and live. I'd focus on getting bloods done first to see where you are. From there I would focus on the things you can eat being that you're allergic to a lot of different foods. You want to up your protein and carbohydrates.

You say you've been lifting but for how long????

As you stated you can't seem to get the fat out of your stomach, how long has it been since you've been lifting, has it been consistent???

If you do start experimenting a good test base with consistent lifting and adequate time under tension is going to be key.

Get bloods first and go from there.

to help you we need a log from you bro
full respect for posting up but no log its like throwing rocks in the dark
@BikelifeJ

HOW-TO LOG?

Why is a Log Journal important?

  • Doing a log will actually help you way more than just dropping random updates. When you lay it all out week by week you start to see patterns in your body that you won’t catch otherwise.
  • Other guys here run logs all the time and there’s no privacy issue, nobody is asking for your name or anything personal, it is just training, diet, and how the compound feels.
  • The feedback you get is also way better because people can follow along and spot things you might miss. It also helps the next guy who is thinking about running the same compound so you are giving back while you learn.
  • Even if you think you might not stick with it, just starting the log makes it easier to come back and add quick notes. That way you get more out of what you are running instead of keeping it all in your head.

To really guide you we need more info from you.
  • Please share your diet, training, cardio, sleep, supplements etc log with us in a NEW thread, full log journal so our guidance is based on facts you provide.
  • It will take 15-20 minutes max.
  • We have 100s of years of experience between us, so you need to post a LOG Journal with your stats (weight, height, age, years training, cycle history) diet, training, cardio, supplement, sleep details. If you don't log what you eat or train now, open NOTES on phone and start recording it there and paste here. Very easy.
  • Please post a Log Journal asap for us

Please click the anabolic forum
top RIGHT, you see: +POST THREAD
click that

in Title: write your cycle name, like> My _____ Cycle Log
___ = the name of your log
example: My training cycle Log
in body: write your planned cycle or cycle you doing now, your diet, training and we will help you along on your cycle

here are examples of LOG Journals

P.S. are you listening to our podcast? if not, you should; this podcast is about steroids, sarms, peptides, and bodybuilding:
