Alright here we go. I'm currently about halfway through my first ever prep and working under @Gains Man (looks to be a few of his disciples over here), only 8 weeks and change until the big day and can't wait. I'm 46 years old, 179cm and about 83kg which means I'll be competing in Mens Physique. Im currently training 5 days a week - push, pull, legs, push, pull emphasising upper body work due to some injuries and the category I'm competing in. Gear wise running Test E and EQ at the moment with GH in the mix at 3.3iu a day, Mast, Tren, Orals and Albuterol to be added very soon. Currently consuming 2500 cals a day. Quick snapshot of my bodyweight over the last 6 months or so. Back in September last year I hit a peak bodyweight of 97kg at the end of my bulk and dieted down to about 86kg by new years. I then did a planned holding health phase where I pretty much maintained body weight whilst slowly increasing calories back up to 3200 from memory, I then handed the reigns over to coach Gains in early or mid Feb from memory who has guided me to where I'm at now.

So another week of prep done and dusted -the weeks seem to be ticking over nice and quick now, each week quicker than the last - I feel like show day will be here before I know it!

My body weight has done some weird shit since mid last week which I'm putting down to the increase in gear- diet, training, steps and cardio all are unchanged and I'm definately still leaning up so not super concerned with what the scale says. My legs in particular have leaned up a lot this last couple weeks, they generally hold more fat than anywhere else on my body which was confirmed via DEXA late last year when they were measured at about 4% points higher than anywhere else.
Energy wise I've been feeling pretty good about 95% of the time, I do feel a bit of fatigue and a tiny bit of hunger early in the day every now and then but it's nothing that a bit of will power can't overcome. Once I get through to lunch time every day I know that I'm good as from that point forward the meals are a bit more substantial (and contain most of my carbs), I structured it that way because I train in the evening and am most prone to snacking at night so backloading my cals this way works really well for me.

I've been continuing to practice my posing and have a session booked with my posing coach this afternoon, it's only my second session with him but I've already made heaps of progress, we are doing it online as I live pretty remote but it has still been very worthwhile.

Anyway that's about it for now. I will have Coaches feedback later today and im expecting some possible changes to the supplement regime.

OK so got coaches feedback yesterday and he is happy with the weeks progress and how we are looking for 8 weeks out, so got to be happy with that. No diet, cardio or training changes to be made however the PED protocol is going to be updated in the next couple of days so stay tuned for that.

Also just thought I'd throw up a meal I've been rotating in and out of my plan recently, this is a great one for anyone with a sweet tooth that struggles to hit there protein numbers and its absolutely fricken delicious 😋. I call it my Strawberry Cookie and Cream pudding (I do a wicked choc peanut one aswell) and it hits the spot with over 60g protein.

To make it start by throwing half a jelly lite in with 300 to 400ml hot water and mix up. Then throw in remaining ingredients (I occasionally throw a touch of benefibre in there as well), blend the shit out of it and leave in the fridge. I've also made versions where I've blended about 100g of Strawberry or peach into the mix aswell and that still turns out great. Enjoy!

8 weeks out today!

I've had a nice little weight drop and clear improvement in condition in the last few days, it's crazy how quickly you see the changes when you are relatively lean, a half kilo weight drop at 12%+ is almost unnoticeable but clear as day where I'm at now.

Ticked off 60 minutes of very easy cardio at the gym this morn, I say very easy as it was supposed to be fasted steps but I like to mix it up and get on the assault bike and or elliptical as a bit of a change a few days a week so try and match my intensity and HR with that of walking. Only doing 2 of what I consider actual "cardio" sessions a week at the moment, 20 min each on the stepper at about 140bpm or so, which I slot in on Monday and Friday- my "off days".

Currently smashing out a heap of meal prep and then hopefully chill out for a few hours before "push" this arvo.

As of this week I've dropped EQ in favour of Mast and have thrown a low dose of tren into the mix aswell, total mg's are now up, was doing 600 test, 200 eq but now doing 500 test, 600 mast and 100 tren. Will be interesting to see if there is any improvement in gym performance as my last couple sessions I've struggled to maintain numbers on a few exercises. Also I'm talks with a probation vendor on here for a sponsorship collaboration so may have the opportunity to throw Primo into the mix aswell (yes it's still out there haha), if that goes ahead the plan will be to split the mast and primo keeping the DHT total 600mgs. Will see what happens!

The tren should give you a performance boost that far into a cut brother. If lifts are beginning to stall, hows sleep at the moment? Whats nutrition look like around your workout window?

Yeah sleep has actually been really good, normally when I've been cutting for this long my sleep would be shit by now - hasn't been an issue at all so far. I reckon it's been a combo of keeping fatigue low, having a pretty small calorie deficit and no strong fat burners yet, hopefully the addition of the tren doesn't mess with it. Nutrition wise my pre and post work out meals are the 2 biggest of the day and account for 170g carbs between the 2 with my daily carb total sitting around 260g, so it's a decent portion. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on that set up.

I can't remember the last time I saw Primo on someone's list but he's got some (with Janos) if that's what your after.

Anyway my plan now is to continue running my current oils until my Buck Pharma touchdown at which stage I'll make the swap, can't wait!

Eventually when body fat gets so low and cals are reduced as far as they can something has to give..

My body weight again has not moved much this past week but we did bump the PEDS considerably and visually I have definately improved, most notably in my lower body whilst abs and obliques appear more vascular. It was my first week back at work which meant my neat increased a bit and I was able to reduce my morning fasted steps and hit my daily step goal with ease, I generally aim for 30 mins in the morn but will increase that if I happen to wake early or have more time such as on the weekend. Actual "real"cardio remains at 2 x 20 min sessions on the stepper, so still very low at this stage
Energy wise through out the day I have actually found this week easier than the last, I think being at work and a bit more mentally and physically occupied seems to help, I will say though that energy in the gym is down a touch and I've definately lost some oomph.

7 weeks & 1 day out

Received coaches feedback yesterday- he is pretty happy with where we are at so no changes to diet, training or cardio/steps, we have decided though to throw some fat burners into the mix. Plan is to go a little unconventional (my idea) and run a combo of Mirabegron and Albuterol, I was already running the Mira at its prescribed dose for night time urination reduction (25-50mg) for the last few weeks, will up that to its fat burning dose (100mg) and combine it with 2 x 2mg Albuterols (morning and midday), inspired by several Vigorous Steve YouTube videos haha. I've done a bit of research and read snippets from some studies and am confident the Mira/Alb combo should give similar fat loss effect to Clen with less sides, in saying that I do have some clen ready to go if needed. Looking forward to trying this combo and assessing its effectiveness.
 
7 weeks today until the big day!

I Ran the new Mira/Albuterol combo yesterday and didn't notice anything to be honest (which is good), no clen shakes or tremors (not sure if that's even a thing with Albuterol) and was able to sleep pretty well last night which has been a bit of an issue for me in the past when using Clen. One of the main reasons I opted for Albuterol over clen was because of its much shorter half life and the belief my sleep would be less affected, only early days but so far so good. I woke up this morning looking very dry, much dryer than normal and weight was down a decent bit aswell, not sure if it's a slight diuretic affect with Alb or the Mast P kicking in (probably a combo of the 2), weight wise I was also expecting a bit of a drop as I increased my insoluble fibre intake a touch a couple days ago so have been crapping like a champion 😄

60 minutes very light cardio has already been punched out this morning, got some shopping and food prep to get down and then into a late arvo push session- the perfect Sunday in my eyes.

So not a good start to my Wednesday :cautious:

- treadmill died about 2 minutes into my fasted steps, spent a bit of time trying to get it sorted then just opted for a walk outside which is all good but by this stage I'm 10 min behind schedule in my busy morning routine.
-after the walk I grabbed my prepped lunch from outside fridge and dropped it on the floor, lid popped off (it's a sloppy lean mince bolognaise type of thing), I thought "fuck it" and just scraped it all off the concrete floor back into the container with my bare hands haha. Probably left about 10 precious calories on the floor aswell (every calorie is cherished at the moment), im shore this one is gonna taste like shit - will know in a few hours lol
- then went to grab my prepped pre work out meal for this arvo and realised I didn't have one made :mad:. Already running late at this stage and still hadn't had my morning coffee either. Anyway prepped my meal in record time, quick shower then off to work.

I reckon I took it all pretty well honestly but hoping the day picks up from here :D

So another week down, and as always plan executed as prescribed, nothing has really changed routine or diet wise in quite a while so it's all just second nature now.

Not much of a bodyweight move again this week but definately trending down if you look at the graph off my app. PEDS got a decent bump about 2 weeks back so reckon there's been a bit of recomp action happening, visually legs and upper tri/rear delt area look to have leaned up in my opinion. Sleep quality has dropped off a bit now as I'm again getting up to pee atleast 3 times a night (gotta be the Masteron) despite dosing Mirabegron pretty high, when I first started the Mira I had a definite improvement but that's tapered off now, think I may have to assess my fluid and electrolyte intake and see if I can make any improvements there. Despite the sleep interruptions I'm still waking up refreshed and feeling pretty good. I had a couple low energy days which coincided with me starting Albuterol at 2mg twice a day, but been feeling pretty darn good remainder of the week.

Show registration and tanning have both been payed now and a second pair of competition shorts have been ordered (advice from the posing coach) and should arrive today if my auspost app isn't lying to me. I'm continuing to put in time to practice posing daily and slowly but surely getting more comfortable with it.

Anyway that's about it for now. I will have Coaches feedback later today, we are getting towards the business end now so curious to see how the coach plays it, definately expecting some tweaks to the plan.

Can't say I've noticed too much from the Albuterol yet, maybe I need to dose higher perhaps, first few days I did wake up looking dryer than normal in the morning but that seems to have died off now. What was your dosing protocol when using it? How do you rate it compared to clen?

8mg 3 × daily I took each dose alongside 100mg - 200mg Caffeine tabs for assisting fat burning & energy.
Clen is more stimulating but always gave me cramps.
I mainly used Clen do my preps.
I would taper off the Clen or Albuterol a week before the comp but keep a modest amount in right up to the comp including the day of the comp because both Clen & Albuterol play a role in conducting as you know & you don't want to lose that.
You taper off them to allow you to fill out also.
I'd be happy to give you taper for Albuterol if needed bro.
Also I would recommend even if you aren't using diuretics for the show to take 1/2 moderetic the morning of the show before the prejudging & in the afternoon before the night show.
This is because anxiety triggers the flight or fight response.
The fight or flight response puts a later of fluid under the skin for fight.
A small amount of moderetic won't make you flat & will prevent water from spilling into the sub Q skin layer because it works by holding the flood gates shut once the water has been removed

Alright so coaches feedback has come in and there's a couple little tweaks to be made like I suspected there would be.

-Albuterol dosing will get a minor bump from 4mg a day to 6mg and

-baseline steps will be increased to a minimum of 14k a day (from 12k),

That's it- nothing drastic, and best of all no food taken away haha. All in all coach very happy with how things have been going and where we are at, so no need to fix something that ain't broken. It's great having a cool, calm and collected mentor lead the way.

Also i am going to start monitoring resting heart rate and blood pressure a bit more diligently which will take some getting used to as I absolutely hate BP cuffs, infact I actually hate it more than pinning, but you got to do what you got to do and hopefully I'll get used to it quickly.

So I started playing with my fluid intake a touch the last couple days to try and get my sleep issues sorted and got to say sleep has improved massively which is a big win, all I did was taper off my intake slightly from about 4pm onwards and only had to get up and pee once, very happy with that. Why didn't I try this ages ago :unsure:

Also first day taking BP & RHR, going to try and do daily but will probably end up at 3 times a week haha 😄 knowing me.

I've got nothing of value to add to my log today - however I did just train pull with a mate who fancies himself as a photographer 😄 so got a couple action shots. Was actually a pretty decent session so got to be happy with that.

Fasted steps in the a.m. tomorrow then "push" in the arvo. Tomorrow is officially 6 weeks out for me.
