Got in accident on my motorcycle today

So I finally had an accident on my motorcycle, first time. Not my fault, some fuckstick made a left turn into my lane, tires locked up and I had to dump it to avoid a head on with him, was going about 30 I guess. Fast enough to get scary but nothing serious. Bike amazingly only has front left light taken out, rear signal light, but thats it, no handlebar damage or tank or anything. I look worse that the bike. Had hemlet but did not have Teh_Jacket lol.

front tire went up under the left front bumper but not really any collision involved. if he was going faster he would have hit my body with his car.
 
Glad you're ok!!!

I've never seen someone so happy after a bike accident, but I guess I would be too considering how lucky you were it wasn't worse. :-)

you aint lying rob. i cant imagine dumping it at 60+ mph or some crazy shit. something tells me Im going to feel this in the morning though.

I ride to man Ive been hit 2 times. Not willing to give it up though because of that. Glad that your okay 30mph is plenty fast to fuk you up, lol. I hate the feeling of locking your breaks on a bike, there is literally nothing more you can do except brace for impact.

I'm just impressed you were riding a bike...we still have 5 feet of snow on the ground here! Glad you're ok.
 
dude you know what they say, when you got a bike, it's not a matter of IF you'll get in an accident, its WHEN. fortunately you got away relatively unscathed bor. i had a bike in college and sold it before i ended up doing something stupid (was a crotch rocket so it was just begging to be rode hard like SB's mom). worst i got was a scar from a burn on the exhaust. 3 of my friends were not so lucky.
 
Seems like it was about this time last year we got our bikes, Dave. So far I've only had one very close call that resulted in nothing worse than some ugly rash on one of my pegs. I've been riding a lot again the last 3 weeks. As much as I hate to say it, I guess we're both about due.

Did yall call the cops and get it official or what? Seems pretty shitty to let that dude off w/o at least paying for the damage to your bike.

Those situations are always weird, tho. Who's to say what happened....

Of course i called the cops you jabroni, got his insurance etc.
 
good to hear your ok...but on another note you need to hit the gym rob...you look like one of them starving african childrens. Your eyes look like they are going to rape and eat my soul.

Glad you're ok dude. I lost 2 friends to cycle accidents, I don't even ride a bicycle near cars. Stick to the mountains and le me fuck myself up.

Also get yourself scheduled for a chiropractic adjustment and make sure the chiro checks out your hips as well as your back.

Lucky! That's the number one cause of M/C accidents... People turning left in front of you. I guess you just have to plan that everyone is going to do that, so when somebody does, it's not a surprise. I've been very lucky for the 25+ years I've been riding, and I have only dropped bikes on two occasions (God bless; no serious injuries). Both cases were sudden flat rear tires, and no other vehicle involved.

Glad you're basically OK, and also that the bike seems to be an easy fixer.

banging the weights too hard in my 20's led to 3 rotator cuff chops, ear reconstruction surgery before i went deaf from some sort of infection, torn tendon reattachment inner left elbow 3 months ago. Go Tboned in car 6 years ago, jacked up my surgerized shoulder from the seatbelt force. Motorcycle wreck yesterday.
Im the fuckin robinator though. I will be back up and even hit a cycle by years end if all goes planned.
 
I've always wanted a bike but after working trauma there's not a chance in hell you will EVER catch me on one. fo realz

Glad you're not any more beat up than that.

Body parts will heal, but the bike won't fix itself. Did the other driver get ticketed? Will his insurance fix your stuff?

yea made a police report. adjuster called today and he will be out this week to look at it.

Do some upgrades bro. Mine was adjusted for 4200.00 in damage. Teh harley dealership was cool enough to give me a parts catalog and long story short I basically put 4100.00 in upgrades on the bike. (I was under the impression I had to go OEM). Gave them the 100.00 to buy the shop lunch when I picked up the bike. Needless to say I was happy as hell.

not gonna happen seeing as the only damage is the front left headlight and rear left signal light, maybe the foot peg.
i was amazed that was all the damage
 
Well looks like the insurance company has accepted liability since i had a different guy call me and say to take it to any repair shop i wanted and have them fax the estimate to them. gonna see if i can milk it a little
