7 passenger vehicle suggestions

Same reason that:
Audi parts are more expensive than VW parts
Acura parts are more expensive than Honda parts
Lexus parts are more expensive than Toyota parts

Although all those vehicles roll of the same assembly lines the name badging dictates more expensive parts and service. If my roomates headlights go out on the esco it's a $500 fix according to the dealership. Just things to think over especially with a used vehicle is what do repairs cost and how much are parts for a DIYer.

Knot sure about GM/Caddy's but some "luxury" brands, e.g. Lexus, shared a drivetrain with Toyota, butt the peripheral components, e.g. starters, radiators, batteries, etc ... had stronger specs

most mechanical parts will be interchangeable...

it's the cosmetic/body parts that'll cost more, but even then you can go NON OEM and save a few bucks.

Very true yes some of the peripherals are better on the caddy but not enough for the parts premiums. Look into putting a transmission into a toyota and a lexus and the difference is frightening.

lolol..I knew this would be followed by something vaguely derogatory

My dad just bought a new SLT with a 5.3. It's so fucking sweet.

I tried talking him into buying the Denali but he said it was too fancy lol

That's what I have now 5.3
strong strong engine
I love GMC trucks trim and the quality a tad better than chevy, having personally owned both.

BTW I didnt think I could love SL more, but now knowing you're GMC lover I wanna bellly button fvck u bro

Never send a truck to do a SIERRAs job

Why get an escalade when you can get the yukon, suburban, etc.. that is the same vehicle without the cadillac badging? My roomates escalade isn't that great plus the parts and maintenance are way higher than on my suburban. Plus my burban has nearly 200,000 miles on it and still runs great.

My Dad drives Tahoes, nice car, but it's not nearly the same car as my Escalade. I'm not talking bells& whistles, the ride and comfort factor. Not the same at all. His has the 5.3 and mine has the 6.2, his gas milage is 15-20mpg, mines 12-16mpg, not THAT much difference. To be fair, I haven't driven the Yukon, Denali or Suburban, but I would find it hard to believe that they would be much different than a Tahoe.

The new Ford Exploder is getting rave reviews from everywhere.

With the stupid low % you can get on domestic auto loans now, and other dealer incentives, buying new might be a legit option even if you were planning on used.

I was lookin at that...between that and navy federal cu auto loans I think I can get a next to nothing interest rate

The problem with 0% financing is that you give up dealer incentives, rebates, blah blah.

So 9/10 times you're better off taking the rebates and getting your own financing. Typical CU rate now is in the 3% range

lowest rate Navy is offering right now is 1.99% my other CU is offering 3.75% on new cars
Navy gives an almost instant answer too where as the other one only makes loan decisions on thurs.

remind me why I still have the other CU?

Mitch is right
Chevy is offering like 4k in rebates OR 0% financing
Say the sticker is 44k
You take the rebate
Negotiate from there
Get it down to around 34-36k
Get a loan at those good rates and only pay in the 2-2.5k range in interest, instead of taking the truck for 0% and end up paying 39-40K

so...found a used escalade I like....practically across the street from where I live too
decent mileage, clean, I know the dealer and even know what he makes off of it

got financing approved through my CU (like a same as cash loan and haven't signed anything yet)....completely freaked at the payments and am not sure I want a new car at all.....

fml

sold the subarau even.. *sigh*

don't you have like a thousand vehicles? why are you even considering taking on a car payment? sell off the surplus and pay cash for a used vehicle. come on naw shirlz

well thats what I was thinkin redshirt...sell off two and pay down a new car about half...

but now Im really reconsidering..I hate car payments because cars always depreciate
but the stratus had the oil light came on tonight and promptly went out and that really freaked me out....but Im pretty sure its the sending unit..
by my unofficial check ..the oil pump is functioning..it has oil..idk wtf..gonna bring it to the shop tomorrow to have the pressure checked. I hate idiot lights

sold the subaru, it leaves tomorrow...so that leaves the truck which I wont sell until it pisses me off, the bmw thats not worth anything and the stratus, also really not worth anything

I just want something roomy and comfy enuff :(
