I've always gone with my church going girlfriends.I'll take church over the mall any day. I still go to church with my mother when I visit. Cindy and I were both raised evangelical baptist...my christianese is strong!

Technically, cindylou doesn't have to look after my salvation...I was washed in the blood of christ when i was 13.

I'm betting the ones that at least experienced a period of being hushed worked out a lot better (example: stefka and samoth...who dated for like six months before they got hearts and flowery on the forum).

Forums like this add a lot of strain that wouldn't be there otherwise. The only two fights the fella and I have ever had have been triggered by bullshit that never would have occurred if we had kept things private.

lol. I would expect you to be defensive of e-lationships too.

Yes samote and strefka are a good couple. They pretty much stay off the forums too. But congrats on bringing up a success story! Should I bring up the hundred or so failures now? lol.

Sure the forums add strain...but if it wasn't for the forums you'd have never met your fella, now would ya?

As for java and cindy...well, he is a Brian, so that gives him a huge leg up in any situation...however, cindy is a crazy jesus freak...but, java knows all about that and I think he can handle it well. Like I said, he will convert in deed (going to church, etc.), but not in spirit (he ain't believing in all that).

No doubt, I know very intelligent people that are capable of erecting a wall in their brain between reason and faith. I've admitted in the past that faith can be a positive survival trait...hopelessness and defeat can kill you quick.

I just don't need jesus to survive.

The closest I've ever come to marriage after my divorce was Melody, went to church with her every week...helped her choose a church home; I am fluent in christianese...she broke off our engagement with a text message, "I want to be with someone equally yoked."

I protect my family from my atheism but I would never lie and manipulate a relationship with a wiminz even if I could live a lie.

I'm not remotely defensive. How many actually fall into the category I stated? Mine doesn't. You misread my intent there completely and took it down a road that wasn't even relevant. They are very much an exception but my point was that they are an exception because they are also among the very few who have maintained some personal boundaries.

I'm eternally grateful for meeting my fella, but there are plenty of times I wish we had kept it private, and I think SOME privacy is important to making it work (and many of the Ef relationships that have imploded had little privacy). So, I wasn't contradicting you. I was adding to your point.

Cindy only has separation periods with her husband...no rebound....I always give advice that nobody listens too...Dude started cheating on her before she agreed to marry him six year ago...

I kinda did years ago. Made me fucking miserable. Went through the randoms, hung out with a filthy piggy for a while, missed an actual connection, she kept trying to get back together. i gave in and it fucked me. Silver lining is I got my daughter out of it. Now I just have to stress about what her mom has her around all the time.

Indeed it is brododendron. She didn't trap me with the preggers though. She never wanted kids, and by the way she acts most of the time, she still doesn't. She just has her brief mommy time and thinks seeing her makes her mother of the year. I have the rugrat 6 days and 6 nights per week. She doesn't even have a full 24 hr period with our daughter, and half the time she has her, her sister watches my kid while she's out. I don't think I've ever seen that kind of behavior in someone that rarely drinks and doesn't use drugs.

Oh dude, you wouldn't want them if I had them. She was a knockout when she was young, but now she's just fat, drinks too much, and smokes like a chimney. I saw pics of her when she got out of basic and it was like "yyyooooooooooo". Now you see her and it's like "yyyaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!"
