TV shows about NJ giving it a bad rep

not that NJ has always had the best reputation, and i am the first to say that it's by no means a great place to live (really high taxes) but all of these shows like the housewives of NJ (town is right next to me.... they choose the main area in that town where everyone is stuckup) and the show about the guidos at seaside which i watched 20 minutes of before turning it off.

NJ isn't the best state to live in by any means, but the way it's perceived on TV is making it seem 1000 times worse than it is

anyone else live in NJ or watch either of these shows?

meh. tv shows aren't supposed to be real, that would be boring. still based somewhat on truths (just like most stereotypes).

one of those dudes on mtv's jersey shore is from my city in rhode island and people look at hime saying 'fucking jersey guidos'. idiots, the lot of em.
 
My wife had that shit show on the other day.

After about 10 seconds I was about to punch her in the labia for being so stupid.

any state that has fucking toll booths and state troopers praying on people driving through the state every 5 miles sucks ass in my book

Im sure it has alot of good points though the impression i get Of jersey is prob like the one peeps get of new orleans
 
i live in the dirty. i used to go to the shore when one of the greatest clubs ever was located right there. now, these guidos, which are a national and possibly a worldwide joke, have plagued every area that is good. dont these clowns realize they are the butt of the jokes? not the joker. i could never imagine being such a character with such ginormous egos. it baffles the mind. and the chicks are straight up ugly and skanky.
 
they need to air more footage portraying the considerate and selfless side of new jerseyans, such as students skipping exams to donate blood.

ive ran across this stooge 2 times in my life. the first was at a local bbing contest. he seemed to think he could just show up and compete, never mind registering and paying the fee. the 2nd time was at his place of work, the garden state plaza mall where he was a security guard. and yes, he looks that fucking stupid in person.

i have no idea, i stopped going to that mall once they began building the movie theater. that place is a fucking freak show mob everyday.

ah no way man!! The AMC is awesome.. but i can agree with the part about the freak show. Lot of weird kids go there. Last time i went to a movie on a sunday afternoon with my family, i can't tell you how many weirdass kids i saw

i was going to that mall so long ago, you wouldnt even recognize that entire area. the place was 1/4 the size and you used to be able to run in and out quickly. now, forget about it. i would never, ever go there again. the palisades is still manageable at the right times. paramus park is empty. fuck paramus, route 4, route 17, the garden state parkway, rt. 46, rt. 3, the gwb and both fucking tunnels. fuck em all.
 
Im moving to Jersey with my Fiance next week. North Jersey, Englewood Cliffs/Fort Lee area.... the GWB is right outside my door..... Its gonna be a huge difference from Florida but I grew up in New York till I was about 18 then moved down here with the Navy but im sure I can bounce right back into Yankee mode....

i wateche jersey shore today...funny douchebags thats for sure..that little fat guidette i would of busted in the jaw if she got in my hot tub with them big ol rolls..fuckin skank..funny show though..ill watch it...didnt find anythign offensive....no different then blacks callin eachother nigga...i could see if it was non italian people calling eachother guidos or other people guidos...then i could see where some could gt offended..but wtf you gonna complain for someone of there own race talking to eachother? lol

Next episode is when Snooky gets clocked by a dude on Jersey Shore. This show sure is entertaining. lol The guy has some serious issues though hitting a girl like that. I mean she is annoying, but dang he really hits her hard.

I think the show is really entertaining. Although most all reality MTV shows are partially scripted. They can improvise with what they are saying, they don't memorize lines. However, they are given storylines to follow & can fill in saying whatever they want. They are sort of guided or directed, I guess you could say. Jersey Shore is pretty good & I admit I watch it every Thursday night. The next episode should be interesting when Snooky gets punched. Even though she does have a big mouth & can be annoying, no woman should be hit by a man.
 
Don't worry about it.... They did the same thing to Dallas with the show starring Larry Hagman, and also to Orange County, CA with the more recent show "The OC". None of those shows ever show how it really is, and they always point out dirt, or make the whole populus look like stuck-up idiots, or even in Beverly Hills 90210, they actually showed non-Arab people still living there. Get real, Hollywood!

arent those to protect the suburbs from highway noise pollution? i think i know what youre talking about, the huge walls that block in the major highways in some areas. if thats the case, they havent been there forever. as the state became more populated and more homes were built next to the highways, towns complained. good use of taxpayer dollars as usual.

Nah the Jersey Wall is the small barrier that hones your driving skills to that of NASCAR level. They could be on the shoulder or as a divider during construction. Basically your mirror and the side wall of your tires are about 2 inches from disaster at 75 mph unless you know how to drive. Those of you that aren't from NJ clearly don't know how to drive and complain about Jersey walls.

To you I say GTFO.
