he's a big piece of shit, but whatever. he did 2 years in federal prison because he was a piece of shit. you can't bar someone from doing their chosen profession simply because they are a felon. if you are going to do that you might as well give them a life sentence because they are fucked. and most felons are fucked.. I'm not going to lose any sleep over someone who paid their dues getting a second chance.

This is the only profession where you can commit a felony and still continue to work at that same job. If a Dr were to commit a felony, their license would be stripped and they would never practice medicine again. If an accountant were to launder money or fudge numbers he would lose his job never to return to the same profession. You will find that this goes along with EVERY single other profession. He deserves to be with a mop in his hand or working the drive through. What kind of message is the NFL sending to the millions of children that idolize these athletes?

All I'm syting is that this foundation is a hypocrisy.

you're comparing apples and oranges. . .doctors, lawyers, cpa's, engineers, school teachers. . .hell, even hairdressers have to take an actual "professional examination" to enter into their "profession". . .and then your conduct is governed by your state's "bureau of professional and occupational affairs" (i.e., "the law"). . .and all of those types of "professions" have a whole list of "acts discrediting to the profession" for which you can have your license jerked. . .a professional athlete, with regard to the law (as it relates to "professionals") is held (by the law) to no higher standard than a construction worker. . .and there's an ASSLOAD of felonious construction workers. . .jus' sayin' :)

michael vick's job is to THROW A BALL. who fucking cares if he's a felon? not like he is mayor, or working at a dog kennel.

people serve their time and that is that; everyone has the right to work. there are convicted felons in every profession. if michael vick's salary was 30,000 a year, you wouldn't care about him coming back at all.

it may seem shitty to you that a scumbag like vick is making millions while you are in massive debt, but it really isn't something rational to worry about

I used to have the same position on this subject as you. Who cares? Some people don't give a shit about animals and the NFL is a very big business.

Upon refection though I wonder if our values are going completely to crap? We (as a nation) talk about having regard for the law but when it comes to our sports, hey fuck that shit bitch I wanna see my game.

Ultimately it's on us. The front office wouldn't have given him another shot if they didnt know that in the end we just want to see that negro throw the ball. We do, so they did.
