First time terror

I got the gear and the needles to do my first cycle and I'm totally psyched about it, but I am terrified of giving myself the shots. I'm sure that I'm not alone in this. Does one just bite the bullet on this? I've read everything about doing it properly, but I just don't trust my skills. Guys on here have said to me "don't be afraid to pin yourself". I hope that they are right.

The physical process of just giving yourself the shot should be the least of your worries, really. That is the easy part. The hard part is respecting the power of those hormones and being safe in their use. Once that needle penetrated your skin, things will never be the same again. I hate to be over dramatic about this, but its the truth.

Do your right butt cheek - easy and painless first shot. and the longer you stand there with the needle in your hand the longer the needle gets in your head. Really - just put it up to your skin and slowly push it in - you won't even feel it.

You got this bro.

Read up about doing the shots and get them done, don't worry. After you pop your cherry, you wont look back. :)

So true my friend. So true.

I think I'm gonna have trouble when i decide to do it, heh.
Needles dont scare me, I donate blood all the time and i've iv, needles, etc all in me in the hospital before.. no problems.
But I've tried to prick myself with one of those diabeties things before.. so that I could test my blood type, I couldn't do it, lol. Brain doesn't like me jabing myself with sharp objects.

it seems once a newbie reads up on pinning. he gets overwhelmed, confused, and scared. It is not complicated, no technique etc. Just throw the pin into your skin and dont worry about aspirating, technique, and so forth. Just get it done for the first time and it will come easier and easier. Than you can start focusing on aspirating and crap. With your first shot. Your virgin muscle won't like it too much. lol and you will most likely be feeling it for a few days.

Dude, I've had to pin myself 4 time in one day before... I've gone through times where I've pinned twice per day, every day... But I still have those damn glucose meters because that shit always hurts... Pinning with a real needle doesn't hurt and doesn't phase me... I hate glucose meters though.

By the way for the poster... It ain't the needle that hurts my friend.. You don't feel the pin prick... Sometimes you feel the solution going in... Sometimes that hurts... What really hurts though is certain gear the next days, especially to virgin muscles.

Some gear takes a while for your muscles to get use to the soreness..> Then you change up the brand and it might be just a hair different and it starts to sting the next day again...

Relax though, you get used to it... You don't think about it... Don't sweat it... it's just a little pin prick

Yea, Just a little prick in the ass.. no biggie. :p

haha.... Just hit my quad about 5 minutes ago... Didn't feel a thing, not even a bit...

As you do it more, you will get better... Kinda like those tools at the blood lab that haven't learned how to take blood yet and pin you like 8 times... Then they get good and stop hurting people...

Just remember not to slowly push in the pin. I remember I used to just kind of set the pin on my ass or quad and gradually push until it broke the skin... Now, you will definitely feel that... Once I figured out that you just tee it up and push fast, then slide it in... Doesn't hurt a bit

Um, yes aspirate lol.:worried:

Well guys thanks for all of the input and encouragement. I am not afraid of needles in general and never have been. Like I said it's my hands and lack of experience that scare me. Also, I kind of am worried about not being able to tell if the pain I will experience is a normal reaction to the newness of the gear in my body, normal reaction of a body not used to getting lots of shots, or a real problem (ie. bad gear, an infection). I guess I should check back with you guys about what the sensation is and if it's something to worry about or just part of the deal.

Done my first shot 2 weeks ago and now on my 4th. TBH it really doesn't hurt at all. A bit of soreness the next couple of days but oh well...

I started with my right glute, then left quad, then right quad and none hurt at all. I am pretty lean so I can see my main veins and find it easy to avoid them. I found doing the shot in the morning and then using the muscle throughout the day seems to release the oil into the muscle which stops it aching much the next day, but that might just be in my head???

Using pharma gear helps too:p

Dont get me wrong, I aspirate everytime. I mean its so easy, why not! but I don't see many reasons to do it. Doctors don't so why should we? Just throwin that out there

There are some compounds that can be injected both IM and IV... With these compounds, it doesn't matter if they go IM or IV, thus the docs don't aspirate...

I've had IM injections where the docs have aspirated.

You will most definitely know the difference between an infection and normal pain. Normal pain you may feel like you got hit with a hammer... Not normal is when it get's red, hot, etc... Big differences.
