bulking w/o milk and eggs is not bulking!!!

joe d

High End Bro
Platinum
its crazy how many bulk diets i see on here that are loaded with shakes and fish and have no milk, eggs, and little to no beef. what the hell kind of diet is that.

here is my current diet

2:am hamburger with spinach on ezekiel bread milk, water

5:30 am big blast

6:am eggs, turkey bacon, milk, oj, oats, water

9:am chicken, milk, broccoli, sweat tater, nuts, milk, water

12:pm steak, oats, mixed green salad, nuts, milk, water

gym big blast

3:pm chicken white rice

4pm steak, eggs, broccoli, rice, milk, water

7:pm chicken, oats, mixed greens, milk, water

10pm eggs, nuts, milk, broccoli, water

and i drink milk between a lot of these meals.

i consider this to be an effective bulking diet. i really dont get how a person can grow off of 3 meals a day and a bunch of shakes. shit i dont even think i could manage to prevent losing 3lbs per day with that.

so if you are one of them how bout showing me your diet and tell me your progress with it so maybe i can learn a little something.

hey joe...thought i would make you a little jealous. My friend raises chickens and he feeds them flaxseed for their food, so the eggs are utlra rich in omegas....then on top of that he runs 2 or 3 roosters so the eggs are fertilized...so they have even more protien in them...they are the perfect source for everything....

agreed. burgers, steaks,WHOLE milk, eggs WITH the yolks and lots good fats and crbs .. everybody is afaid to eat..people wanna look like freaks but eat like runway models. sigh . If I dont feel like I haveta crap or vomit Im not eating enough to growww

nice. i couldnt bear eating the fertile eggs its just wierd to me lol. i do use a high quality scratch that has flax in it. i mix that 50/50 with layer pellet

ahhh joe you dont like eating the litle un-born chickies????lol

ah.. shit you got me on that one. i get laughet at all the time. my friends like to hunt and shit and i just cant do it. its funny though i have no problem eating my chickens just not the chicks.

Love my eggs.

I've been making a super-protein shake recently ;) (400ml milk / 3 scoops of protein / 4 eggs / 200g low fat yoghurt / Ice)- throw that in a blender and you get about 100g Protein. Kicks ass. Work keeps me ridiculously busy, so that can really help add any Protein I missed or give me a great kick start in the morning.

I love it bro. I admittingly need to add more Milk to my diet. I got the eggs and red meat covered though

hey joe, how are your carb portions for them to add up to 1200-1300 grams a day? just curious?

about 100g per meal. 200 post w/o meal after the big blast than the little bit in each glass of milk between the meals

That's a lot of cho brother. I have one meal everyday where I'm eating 16oz of sweet potatoes. That's my limit on complex carbs in one setting. I need to step my game up :p

throw some more simple carbs into the mix and eat more meals. it will all burn up faster.

ohh alright, that doesnt sound too bad then. especially since you mix simple carbs with complex. simple carbs are always easier for me to stuff down, but they always make me feel bloated afterwards lol. when are you starting to diet down bro. a big guy like you who drops down to 10% or less would be pretty impressive for all te folks on ef to see.

im at the end of this blast im running now. after that i will cruize for 6 wks then cut. my target will be 6%

Well....I've added whole milk. Taking it slow to avoid gastric distress. Two twelve ounce glasses the past two days. One with breakfast and one again before bed. Stepping it up to three glasses today. Yeah, I know this sounds lame, but going crazy on Milk in the past has fucked my stomach up. I'm at the point in this bulk where I need more Kcal to continue growth, but eating more food is a becoming a real chore. The extra 225 kcal from each 12oz serving of milk adds up and is an easy way to get those needed calories. I've also made my last meal of the day 6 eggs, so that gives me a dozen per day. Eggs and milk ftw.

now your talkin. i love eggs before bed. i read a lot of cottage cheese and casein shakes. screw that id rather eat a doz eggs of 10 doz for that matter over cottage cheese. save that shit for fat women

Joe how many calories are you getting down you then?

As for milk and eggs, I have 3 per day of:

500ml skimmed milk (hate whole)
50g oats
1 bannana
7 egg white.

Yum.

correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the added cholesterol in eggs not beneficial when you are on. its actually detrimental?

i only have 1 egg in the AM with 10 whites as opposed to 4 whole eggs with 5 whites when i was off

running 500mg test e / wk... end of week 3 now

cholesterol itself doesnt really have much of an impact on blood cholesterol levels. the cholesterol in eggs actually improves both ldl and hdl cholesterol and therefore lower the risks of having a heart attack or stroke. so all in all i think the good out weighs the bad. i have my cholesterol checked every month and have never broke 400.

roughly 8000 per day

thats intersting... i think il start adding a couple whole eggs to my diet before bed with the cottage cheese instead of peanut butter sandwich w/ the cottage cheese. switch things up a bit couldnt hurt :D

just keep in mind that the only way to know for sure how your cholesterol levels are is to get them checked.

yah 4 pints of milk is like 2.7 litres I think. 65 cals or so in 100ml of whole milk. So have 4 pints everyday of milk thats an easy 1755 cals extra a day!

But then again Im growing right now and loosing BF at the same time (kinda slow), some days I only eat like 3 meals other days I eat like 8-9... lol

things are a little different for you do to your age. your body is naturally equipped for growth and development so you can get away with not being so intense with the diet. dont worry when you get to be about 20-25 you will have to fight hard for every pound and even harder to keep it. and about every 5 years from that point you hit a new level of resistance. you lucky prick. fuck i wish i started at 14. id of been gettin some though!!! :FRlol:

yeah, it makes me think somtimes - imagine where I'd be at and what I'd look like if I managed to keep my diet strict...

But then on the other hand I think look at me now, Im massive compared to other people in classes at school, Im relatively strong, right now Im slowly loosing bf whilst getting stronger and getting a bit bigger and I dont have to stress about diet too much so maybe it wouldnt be worth the hassle.

And you said youself, you dont get any at my age unless your cut up lol, young girls dont appreciate the mass unless its with low BF and my 18% bf isnt really a popular look atm lol

The things I do everyday though are this:

(Mon-Fri)
some fruit, milk, whey and coffee for breakfast

a whole packet of chicken which is 40g protein with pepers and salad and tortilla wraps at lunch

eat when I get home from school, then have tea then eat again after the gym

its saturday and sunday that my diet is fucked cuz my the time iv woke up and done my cardio its like 12.30pm... lol

I know milk is great for bulking, unfortunately im lactose intolerant and milk just tears me up, is Soy Milk any good for bulking? Its the only kind I can handle.

if you put some protein powder in it. id have to say soy milk by itself has to be better than nothing but i dont think its much of a muscle building protein. i do not count any soy protein that i consume on a daily basis.

soy milk is good for nothing. Milk is great for bulking if you want to get fat and bloated. I'm only half serious, but I don't like the sugar or the lactose, doesn't work for me one bit. I'll have milk occasionally on a carb up day but that is about it. There's not really a place for it in either my bulking, cutting, or maintenance diets.

wow as simple as that is ive never thought about that. im going to try that right now infact....thanks for the info....yeah i know its not as good for muscle building as regular milk, just gotta do the best i can beccause of the lactose

I've been bulk eating for 2 weeks now, with heavy emphasis on milk, eggs, chicken, sweet potatoes, and brown rice. I make 2 protein shakes per day to get around my class/work schedule. each shake is about 800-850 cals, depending on the fruits I add to it.

I've gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks with no visible fat gain around my midsection. It's looking like the vast majority of those 10 lbs is solid. I'm not afraid to drink plenty of milk.

Milk will not make you fat. It will prevent you from losing fat due to its high insulin response, but milk is slow digesting and your bloodstream will not overload with the sugars in milk. In fact, milk is a great bulking choice because of its insulin response and slow digestion. The insulin will push protein into muscle cells and since lactose digests slowly your bloodstream will not be overloaded with sugar hence little to no fat storage. If you drink milk with a lot of bad fats or other simple carbs, then it's a different story..

I've been drinking 2% so far but I could easily go with whole milk. There's only a 20 cal difference per 8 oz which isn't much more so it's not really worth it. I can't drink 1% or fat free you might as well drink water with a splash of milk thrown in that's what it tastes like.

i drink whole milk. i think its better. some feal that way about skim.

+1, unless you need to go low fat like on a refeed, it's best to trust mother nature. The fat is in there for a reason. Some we know, some we don't. Most obviously vitamin d is fat soluble.

Also soy milk is really good for you ... if you are post menopausal. It's almost as effective as estrogen replacement therapy.

It's best to stick to the thick red label.

I will post this once more in this thread.....

"Soy milk is essentially Coffee-Mate laced with estrogen, and is best left to vegans and other socialist vegetarian types that can't bring themselves to eat the completely natural-for-humans flesh of our friends the Animals but who have no trouble with slaughtering trillions of our other friends the Plants and processing -- in gigantic factories run by multinational corporations with shareholders that eat meat themselves -- very selectively chosen components of their poor little bodies into gooey shit that humans have never had an opportunity to adapt to digesting. Why, eating such material, with its high levels of isoflavones, touted by gynecologists as tantamount to Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT), will make you grow boobs, and this will screw up the clean lines of this fine young man's Under Armor. I recommend against it."

lol

I prefer drinking skim milk, but I can certainly see the argument for drinking whole milk. For me, milk elicits a high insulin response, and generally when insulin is present you want to limit fat as much as possible. That's why I drink skim milk. I'm no expert on milk, though.

i wont knock rippetoe but i will say like a lot of his other statements they are blown a little out of perportio. but they all carry truth. in this case i would have to say that comparing soy milk to ert would be a stretch. i dont drink soy milk and never will but i do inject estriodol during every cycle and i dont grow boobs. what i do get from it is higher test levels and better gains.
i dont get why people over the years have stopped using estro but i bet that even with the ai's we have now that wherent available then the people with gyno problems where fewer.

milk is a perfect meal...........for a baby cow. i'll have to find some of the amazing researches i've read about cows milk and human consumption. our bodies don't break down milk and absorb it very well after age three i believe. now days they add so much sugar to it as well to make it taste better. i use goats milks/whey due to it's lact of lactose and how closely it resembles human breast milk. it also absorbs many many times more than cows milk.

i think that research falls a bit short of amazing. i would consider it to be bs. unless they conducted their studies on lactose intollerant people but that doesnt apply here. i bet there are 100 studies that say milk is good to every 1 that says its not.

but regardless of all the worthless studies its been proven over and over again that milk is a huge + to muscle development.

actually u're bet is wrong...pretty much the other way around. growing up we all heard how good milk was for us, these "studies" were all from "milk companies". there are 2500+ studies done by top notch research school and labs saying how bad milk is for our bodies. if you could get ahold of some human breast milk try and see how that works :D lol.

im not talking about health or every day people. im talking about muscle building from the stand point of a bb'er or pl'er who uses aas and other compounds. this changes everything. and unfortunately this is the reason that these studies are usually so far off. its just not the same. if you floored it every time you got in your every day car you would beat the piss out of it and it would break down quick. if you drove around the streats following all road laws in your nitro funny car you would beat the piss out of in and it would break down in no time. they are both cars but they are far from the same. milk is a tried and true method. i understand that its not a good choice for some but i refuse to even consider that those studies you mentioned relate to even 20% of the people in these 2 sports.

yep

I thought the egg-yolk contained fat you DONT want?
eggs are one of the best things you can eat . raw is best if you can find a good natrual free range source . i buy all mine from a friend that keeps his own chickens that he feeds on corn flax seed and vegatables ill have(and have had for many years) about 10/12 a day raw or lightly fried all my blood work is perfect .

Hummm... I might stop removing the yolk then (I eat 6 a day) but they are heavily fried. I always thought raw eggs was a myth propagated by Rocky et al

its only that the heat from cooking destroys alot of the benefits from the good fats n cholestorals in the yolks .both rocky and chuck noris eat raw eggs :D.
as for milk i never drink i prefer natrual yogurt

I am pretty sure evidence suggests that drinking/eating raw eggs is actually dangerous and increases the chances of samonella etc, but feel free to correct me. Anyone?

yes ive read that. but as i said in my post i only eat natrual free range eggs that i get from my friend i would never eat raw commercially produced eggs no f++++n way . though i will eat shop bought eggs ( boiled or fried never raw) when i cant get any eggs fro my friend , the hens stop laying for a bit when the weather turn cold.

I dunno whether it makes a difference if they are free-ranged from your mate or shop bought battery farmed eggs in terms of salmonella disease.
Input anyone?!

This is of course true. ANY food that's not been heated to 160f for 1m can allow for the transmission of salmonella.

The myth is that eggs have a higher chance of containing salmonella than other foods. Modern produced eggs have a very low incidence rate of salmonella, and all of it is outside the shell (as the insides of a good egg are sterile).

The reason eggs shouldn't be consumed raw is their content of a protein known as Avidin. Avidin "collects" biotin in your GI tract and inactivates it. Biotin, a B vitamin that is very important for energy metabolism.

Additionally, the calories and protein availability of cooked foods increases, as cooking denatures proteins which allows for better absorption.
