x Deadlift = y Atlas Stone?

Hey all you strongmen....

I was wondering if there is a rule of thumb that says "if you can pick x on a DL, you can pick y sized atlas stone".

Thanks,
B-

I don't think it works like that as the stone is pretty awkward and requires a different movement than the deadlift.

Like any lift the rule of thumb is the only way to get better at it is to train it.

I tried it once, not sure how heavy the stone was though, and it was hard to get a decent grip on the thing, then the transition form picking it up to placing it on the "stand" was a whole other thing.

It is a different ball game. I've almost loaded a 360 to 52" (was shy just a hair) and my DL is 555.

Let us know what you put up big guy. Also tacky or no tacky makes a huge difference, i never train without it.

Well, after picking the 275 stone a few times and putting it over a 32" bar and a 45" platform, I decided to let my mouth run a bit.

Long story short is that I got a 325 stone on the 45" platform. I also have no skin on the inside of my forearms from the tacky, and a back pump that will not go away.

Oh, I also flipped a tire a few times, and did the finger.

You guys are fucking crazy. Seriously, they make fun of us PLers for having a screw or two loose. You guys really are nutz.

Yeah our training days usually consist of us complaining about our most recent injury with the next person chiming in how they just got over that injury and what they did for it while the 3rd guy is off running with 600+lbs on his back.

Lol, sounds like fun...
