I know a lot of people are guilty of doing little or no cardio while either on a cycle or while both on and off cycle (no cardio). I used to be one of these.

I am curious to know how many members neglect cardio or have neglected cardio in the past.

Almost never did cardio while on cyc until recently. I was always a hard-gainer but now that I'm 30+ I suddenly find myself trying to cut for the first time!

Now I do treadmill or Precor for about 15 minutes following my lifts. Have I mentioned how rad Tren is? 1st cyc 50mg ed, 3 wks in. Unbelievable. Cardio is harder on Tren but DAMN I look good!

i used to never do cardio but now i force my self to do at 45mins to an hour once a week, and to be honest i feel better

I do 30 mins walking at highest incline 3-4 times a week.

^^^ ridiculous how effective walking can be when you add the incline - started huting the joints, so moved on to the stationary bike

I quit cardio for the last 2 cycles. But this summer I am on a cutter so I am lifting with high reps and adding in 30 mins of treadmill after every workout just to top things off. Just getting into the 2nd week of my cycle/program so Ill know how it fares in a few more weeks.

20-30 mins on the stationary bike or climber pre-workout (non-leg days).

20 mins on treadmill before lifting ed

Just FYI moonshine, I've looked into cardio before vs. after workout and all the experts say do it after if you're trying to build muscle. I love warming up with a good run, but it's just not ideal for bodybuilding.

I can't remember all the technical jargon, but basically you're exhausting your initial reserve of sugars, etc during the first 15 minutes or so of the cardio. This leaves less energy available for lifting and decreases your muscle-building potential.

In other words, you're depleting the go-juice you need to push your muscle fibers to the next level. Putting cardio after weights maximizes fat-burning because you have to tap into fat cells for energy. Do some research and you'll probably switch up your routine.

One other thing I learned recently is to get some carbs in absolutely as soon as possible after workout (< 15min). You are catabolic immediately following wieghtlifting and in the absence of available carbs to breakdown, your body will use muscle. I bought a case of carb drink from GNC so I can pound half in between lifting & cardio and the other half after cardio.

Just do fast walking for 30-45 mins EOD if you want to cut fat. This will cause your body to go into fat oxidation, which basically makes your body use the fat itself as a fuel source.
This spares the muscle tissue, uses a different pathway so glycogen stores are left alone, and can help to relieve lactic acid build up. I prefer to do this before breakfast (this MAY hel enter fat oxidation slightly earlier) and it helps me to boost my appetite all day.
Between that and the extra cals burned off during intense bouts of exercise and a good diet, fat build up or muscle breakdown should not be of any concern.

i do 90 minutes 5 times a week...kinda overkill but works for me...i dont run due to knees so i walk at quick pace could prob run and burn same amount calories in 45 but prefer not to cripple myself

+1 BINGO! This is absolutely correct.Doing cardio prior to weight training depletes your glycogen stores in your muscles. You might as well call it a day after 15 mins of cardio prior to training with weights.

Ideally if you are going to do cardio do it either 8 hrs before or after weight training. If you don't have that kind of time then immediately after weight training.

no cardio when bulking. Body gets used to doing cardio. After doing zero cardio coming off a bulker and then going to a cutting program including strict diet with TONS of cardio really melts the fat right off! Shocks the body better.

My level of cardio varies a lot to where I am at at any given time during the year and wether on cycle or off but I will always do some form of cardio and generally it is running or fast walking that makes up the bulk of it.

I usualy walk fast for 30 minutes at steep incline after every time i lift and for 45 minutes on off days

i havend done cardio in over 3 years. im going to compete soon so im going to have to hit some am cardio. i do not look forward to it.

always include some sort of cardio in my weekly plan ..unless im seriously trying to bulk up fast

i am 31 5'5'' 230+lbs meso/endo at 20% bf. i have focused on 1 thing for the last few years MUSCLE SIZE and have gained over 50lbs with maybe a 2-4% bf increase in that gain time.

I don't do much cardio either... The problem I have with doing it after working out is that I don't have my protein / carbs until I get home... 15-20 mins after a workout...

Guess I gotta start bringing that stuff with me to the gym..

As mundane and boring as it may seem, its important for overall health to maintain cardio-respiratory performance at all times, whether on or off steroids.

look up some studies.. duration cardio is bad news..

I do like 5min sets of high intensity shit..
then some longer duration cardio that isnt intended as part of my program.. like mountain biking.

On days off 20 mins hardcore all out on the stairstepper... balances out how much im eating right now... not very clean at all!

I see no lgit reason to cut out the cardio even when bulking. Limit it on a bulker yes but not dropping it altogether. I never understood why some folks try to get lean with drugs and still are too lazy to do cardio

Cardio only pre-contest. If you constantly do cardio when bulking your body will not respond the same to the cardio when cutting. I also get an insane rebound effect when going from 40minutes 6 times a week of cardio pre contest to 0 cardio after the show. 6 sets of 10 with 455lb on squats is all the cardio I need when bulking

Thats good stuff mate, ive been doing my cardio before i lift... looks like that will be changing now!!

cardio on a bulk seems counter productive. Why would you want to burn the calories and carbs you need to gain mass? When cutting I do it a lot though

I woudn't do cardio when bulking, every calorie counts! But if your cutting cardio is imperative unless your a endomorph. You will never really get hard looking without cardio when cutting even on gear unless you have endo physique like I already said.

Cardio when cutting...at least 30 mins..140-160 bpm, high and low intervals..

Love running, and biking! Thai boxing and rolling will get you sweating too

I do cardio everyday irrespective of whether i'm bulking / blasting or cruising...it is just that my body tends to put on fat very fast...and cardio helps me check that...

But having said that, i know friends in the gym who never do cardio irrespective of whether they are bulking or cutting...and they never tend to put on fat?? Lucky mofos lol...

In the big picture cardio is much better for your overall health than lifting weights and due to the extra cardiovascular strain steroids put on your system it is even more important to do cardio while on.
