Men may cheat more when they are not in love but women by far are more prone to instablility when in love.

Who gets more horny, the girl or the guy? This is one obvious thing that will help in the answer. Who is the one in the relationship always wanting sex? It's usually the guy.
I'm not gonna sit here and claim that females don't cheat. That's horseshit, but to claim that they do it more than males is a little ignorant imo.

You're also silly if you can't express your needs to your partner and reach a happy medium in the sex department or any other area you are not happy with! It's called: communication! Lack of these skills will ruin anything good in life!

I have never cheated on a woman but every male friend I had that I can think of has. Women cheat too but men definately cheat more. For most men it goes without question they are cheating if the right opportunity presents itself. Women are a little different. Usually with women there is some underlying reason behind their cheating more than the mere fact an attractive guy is interested in them.

This has been done to death, but I'll say that it's probably equal. I'd say men and women are equally garbage.
However, in my own personal experience (myself, friends, etc), the girls do it. I have not known one friend of mine who has cheated on his girl. But, I've known a few girls that have done it. And lied too.

I'd say men. In my veiw there is a higher proportion of women cheating in the US than outside the US. But I would still say men.
What some people don't take into account is that when women get into their upper 20s and 30s, they become much less desireable to most and need sex just as much. Young girls cheat on young guys, but get played and fucked by more experienced guys who are involved with older women all the while.

Women in their upper 20's are much less desirable? Uh ok. I'm 30 I'm definately more interested in women who are 25-30 than 21 year old girls. I just don't have time for that level of immaturity.

I think this all depends on opportunity, and situation.
And sadly to say that I think it is becoming more and more apart of life.
For me, I work an overnight shift...at least 7 overnights every 14 days. Out of the last 3 men I have dated...they have all eventually cheated. Went out with friends, had a few drinks, and after getting hit on, couldn't resist temptation and cheated. I don't think it is really totally their fault...it is partly my work schedules as well. When I asked for an explanation...and I always do...I always hear "It was nothing you did...I was more than very happy...it was just there. It didn't mean anything" Although I understand this, I have not been able to get back into a relationship with these men again.
Would I cheat or have I cheated? I have never cheated on a man that I truely loved and respected.

Personally I never understood cheating. Why get in a relationship if you are gonna cheat? Just stay single. Then you can do whatever the hell you want too.

No, the number of women who cheat are less than men ratio wise, but those who do, do it more often because, yes, they have limitless options to do so. It's like shooting fish in a barrel! The poll here won't reflect things accurately, but the posts on craigslist does. You see TONS of men wanting to cheat. There are posts by women, but you won't see them b/c they are deleted ASAP by the hunting men to diminish the competition b/c women who post are much fewer by ratio against the men looking. You don't see women bothering to do the same thing, the male posts stay up till they are auto deleted. This CL dynamic is a truer barometer. What it does not reflect is my theory that women choose to cheat w/ real life acquaintances vs strangers on CL. Still, men WANT to more, they just don't have as much opportunity.
So, those women who do sleep around (cheating or not), individually sleep around more than cheating men b/c of the shear number of options once the woman does go rampant. I was trying to address this in my "SEX MATH" thread in Between the Sheets. Someone coined it the "super slut theory".
