I'm an air quality engineer for an environmental consulting firm. Once fully trained I will be working in an oil refinery. I can't really start training until I receive something called a TWIC card. It's basically some government background check to make sure I'm not a terrorist from Saudi Arabia. This isn't a cubicle farm nightmare job. I haven't been forced to sit through 8 hours of anti sexual harassment or diversity training. It's not a glamorous job but how many people really have a glamorous job? Even medical doctors are sometimes required to stick their finger up an old man's ass. The pay meets my needs and the manager treats the workers as humans.
