It's an Australasian Antarctic Expedition and they're sailing in a Russian vessel. Nothing financed by or to do with the American govt. in any way (which prefers the ostrich approach over preemptive regarding environmental issues).I hope that they are all freeze to death. Fucking stupid Dems and their expensive green agenda.

Every scientist, climatologist, etc., etc. is in agreement that the term Global Warming is a misnomer. A better term would be Global Climactic Change. Unfortunately, the term stuck and stays stuck because people love to point out that "It's not getting warmer here so what have we got to worry about". IOW, the basic American philosophy of I can't see it from my house, not my problem. If the expedition has anything to do with global warming then Irony is intact

Rebranding their pitch as "climate change" is brilliant, because it let's them blame anything they don't like on any change in the weather.
I'm going to blame Barry's irresponsible economic policies on Dow Industrial average changes because if they are going up, it's because he's manipulating the money supply by pumping trillions of fake money into the market every month through the bond buy-back program. And if the market goes down, it's because of his reckless tax-and-spend policies that undermine the fundamentals of our economy.
It's very convenient, because then anything that happens is the result of his ineptitude.
Good game plan!
If the planet is 4 billion years old and humans have been tracking weather patterns for what, a few hundred years tops?
The arrogance of mankind to predict what long term planetary climate patterns are is akin to amoeba predicting annual migratory patterns of all mammals
Face it, some things we just dont know shit about. Global warming is now Climate change, now conveniently including anything that happens.
Doesnt the climate "change" on its own anyhow? Be it colder or hotter? Wetter or dryer?
If the expedition has anything to do with global warming then Irony is intact
Even when volcanoes were belching out more methane, C02, etc than man could ever produce, it still cycled. That was a good enough explanation for me...
unfortunately it isn't because I remember 20 years ago reading articles that said we'd see mini ice age in response to the warming as the earth tried to regulate itself, but would inevitably fail. They saw this shit 20 years out. So no, there is actually no irony whatsoever.
If they were there for "climate change" then yes. They were partly there for "Global Warming" so the irony is intact according to the English language.
The planet is still warming, whether parts of it get a mini ice age or not...so no the irony is still fail.
Risks to the Planet in Descending Order:
1) Nuclear proliferation leading to the widespread use of dirty bombs or even conventional weapons
- We're talking 1,000-year nuclear winters and an atmosphere flooded with radioactive isotopes with 100,000 year+ half-lives
- So what are we doing? We're playing nice with Iran and North Korea while they quietly develop that technology
2) Some sort of natural geological event (i.e. a world-reshaping volcano)
- It's driven mass extinctions several times in our history
- So what are we doing? How much money are we spending on remediation around an event like that, versus this silly global warming (ummm... I mean "climate change") junk?
3) Some sort of extra-terrestrial event (asteroid, star exploding, etc. etc.)
- It's driven mass extinctions several times in our history
- So what are we doing? We still can't even detect large asteroids until they're right-up on us. Great plan -- notify the public 60 seconds before impact
But since "climate change" is all about wealth redistribution and not about fixing problems, we'll ignore the real risks and pretend that we can prevent 5+ billion people from entering the modern world of automobiles and electrical appliances. Yeah, that Prius is going to do wonders against a couple of billion Chinese people finally being able to afford cars.
truth ... and it sucks
I would put #2 above #1 because it will definitely happen. Just a matter of when.
redscam logic
Still, this research is fairly preliminary, in part because extreme Arctic sea ice loss is a fairly recent phenomenon, so scientists don’t have the long data sets they need to draw more robust conclusions about the interaction between Arctic warming and cold snaps. In fact, the most recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded that it was likely that the jet stream would shift towards the north as the climate warmed, and that the polar vortex would actually contract, even as a 2009 study found that sudden stratospheric warming events are becoming more frequent, which in turn seems to be driven by the rapid loss in Arctic sea ice.
Guess who else doesnt have the "long data" sets. All of mankind because the earth is 4 billion years old
Plunkey: As usual, you see through the bullshit and exhibit a level of intelligence that is far too uncommon amongst the masses today.
RedScam: You're Libtard sheeple trash
what level of intelligence is he exactly exhibiting? Pretty sure he's not a scientist so his only source is his own reading. Now I grant you there are people who say the planet is not getting warmer, it's literally a couple people. The people I listen to are the people from MIT and the max plank institute who say the planet's climate is changing, it "may" be the result of things humans or doing or it may be natural cyccles....but if it's natural cycles we're certainly speeding it along. Those people are more concerned with the ramifications of global warming as in the past when the planet has undergone these changes there were associated extinction events. Finding the rational people that don't speak to polarized constituents is exhibiting real intelligence. The people who say oh well it's a planetary cycle so let's just bend over and enjoy instead of figuring out if maybe there's something we can do to avoid a mass extinction event....well those are the morons and idiots that should never have been allowed to come here. I've got a strong feeling that comprises most of the people here at EF.
I'm not going to read all that, ADD kicks my ass. Does it say that there is climate change and it's been going on for millions of years? Somebody help a brotha out....
