I've done all kinds of stuff that people would call risky; on motorcycles, and I've run into a burning house and got my hair and shirt burnt off, gone in the ocean alone in the middle of the night in a notorious shark zone... But the one thing that stands out (because I got yelled at BIGTIME for doing it when I was about 10 or 11), was actually for a good cause... An old lady who lived down the street from us, had a cat which somehow had a brainfart, and went in another neighbor's yard where there was a notorious attack dog; a mean Doberman which had put a bunch of people in the hospital in the past, and killed other animals. I knew all that, but convinced myself I wouldn't get attacked, and I climbed over the fence and walked right past the dog; got the cat and put it back over the fence as the Doberman was snarling and snapping. I just ignored him, and I got lucky! I think he figured I knew something he didn't know, because I should have been bitten BADLY.
