Ok Car Nerdvigs... What do you guys think of BMWs?

Lol, poor bish3

The only people who say "corners are for pussies" are people who can't drive.

Not necessarily.

Once you want to break certain acceleration barriers, the trick becomes keeping the tires in contact with the pavement.

Credit where credit is due, Ferrari does that so well that it doesn't feel real.

Shits so tight feels like a Tilt A Whirl ride

Yeah but those break down a lot, I hear.

that's just flawed, "canned", thinking

strictly in terms of reliability/dependability "European luxury cars" to include Audi/BMW are certainly knot better than many of the premium domestic offerings

disappointing to hear that from such a learned enthusiast :(

I'm more disappointed to have written, than you are to have read it... I'm basing it on my wife's 2012 Lincoln MKT twin turbo (very top of the line Lincoln crossover), and her Mom's 2012 MBZ ML550, and my brother-in-law's 2012 BMW X6, and my 2012 Toyota Tacoma.

Lincoln: Battery dies on fwy at 800 miles- somebody never tightened a connection at the factory. Very road-noisy for a luxury car. Carpet mis-cut; bare metal shows in back seat, and back seat bolts are poked through hand-cut holes in carpet. Hood does not close right unless you slam the sh*t out of it, and it is plastic. Gas cap leaks; dealer doesn't know why. Rear park assist constantly comes on, even though programmed correctly not to. More?

Mercedes: Everything fits perfectly, and doors, hood, and hatch open and close with ease. Every bolt perfectly placed. No malfunctions as of 4000 miles.

BMW: Paint bubbles, but turned out it may have been damaged & repainted at the dealership. Otherwise no problems as of 6500 miles. Everything works and fits perfectly.

Toyota: (considering it was $32K vs $65K for the Lincoln, and astronomically more for the MBZ), everything fits, opens & closes, lines up, and works fine at 9000 miles.

I wish I could have written that the Lincoln was the flawless one.... I will say that the Lincoln MK-T is VERY tight on the road, and feels heavy and sure-tracked like a European car's reputation. Plenty of power, and excellent brakes.

Irregardless

Strictly in terms of reliability to state "European luxury cars" are way better than domestics isn't accurate

As far as Lincoln, the gussied up Fusion, (MKZ) has a stellar reliability record (as does the Fusion) far exceeding the majority of "European luxury cars".

Agreed Jap (Lexus) still has the overall edge
