Ok Car Nerdvigs... What do you guys think of BMWs?

I see nothing wrong with anyone spending wtf they want on whatever they want. Who the fuck are we to judge how someone who earned their money spends it. If driving a bad ass sports car gets him off then cool. I don't get wtf people with trying to tell others how to spend their money.

Me neither. I'm not against the conspicuous consumption, I just honestly think that he'll be more satisfied with the smoother, tamer version of the 6 coupe unless he's gonna be out terrorizing the twisty 2-lanes.

It’s been a tough month for Tesla, the California battery-car start-up. While it stood toe-to-toe with the New York Times following a critical review of the Model S sedan, many investors quickly abandoned the company, especially after a worse-than-expected fourth-quarter loss.

It's bouncing back and the NY Times guy was an idiot. I won't buy it as a long range car just a daily driver.

I believe the M6 has a button that makes it cushy like it's 6-series counterparts.

My current sports car has two modes with huge differences in suspension and overall sensitivity.

RIDE QUALITY

M6 Convertible w/19-inch wheels

4.4

Class Average 5

Sports-car firm on the standard 19-inch wheels, yet the M6 retains a surprising degree of compliance in everyday commuting. We observed only the faintest hint of cowl shake over bumps, which is a testament to the car's rigid body structure. No opportunity to drive an M6 with the optional 20-inch rims.

QUIETNESS

M6 Convertible w/19-inch wheels

6

Class Average 5.1

As you would expect from a BMW, the engine produces a refined, muscular growl during acceleration while being nearly silent at cruise. The wide tires drone on coarse surfaces, a condition exacerbated because of the convertible body style. Most other noise levels are on par with other high-end grand touring cars.

The M6's sport bucket seats provide welcome support for spirited driving. Entry and exit are coupe-typical, with long doors being a parking-lot nuisance. Visibility is poor with the convertible top up. We highly recommend the optional blind-spot alert, though at these prices, this feature really should be standard.

I think you are referring to the M-Drive.

The car defaults to "cushy" until you turn it on. The suspension stiffens, and the engine changes air/fuel, ignition timing, cam timing and boost (they are twin turbocharged) parameters to significantly increase power output to the fully claimed 570 hp.

Since my car is a 2008 with a V10, it defaults to 400 horsepower, and when I turn M-Drive on it moves to 507.

you're a baller?

No that was suppose to say "wouldn't". Though the short range battery model as a daily driver cost no more than a Lexus GS or 5-series BMW. Problem is the dealer is located in DC which is a good hour and a half away from me (without traffic) so it's not convenient for service/maintenance.

meh...straight line acceleration and a lopey idle through flowmasters make my boat float...corners are for pussies...i want you to be able to see my taillights.

The only people who say "corners are for pussies" are people who can't drive.

^^^ no, the only people that say that, don't have a hotchkis suspension to go along with that loopey idle, high lift cam and double pumper. Probably too geared to be even off the track.

But when you have both; a late 60's chevy and an Infiniti, you learn to love them both for what they can provide!
