Feds Shutting Down Harborside...

...yet another closure/asset seizure. Harborside, one of the oldest and largest MMJ dispensories in the nation, has now been targeted by the Federal gov't.

I love this...Just when gov't coffers are running dry, jobs scarce, here we have a business being shutdown...

Harborside serves about 100,000 medical marijuana users a year and pays $3 million in federal, state and local taxes annually.
"Harborside has nothing to hide or be ashamed of. We will contest the DOJ action openly and in public, and through all legal means at our disposal. We look forward to our day in court, and are confident that justice is on our side" DeAngelo said.
City officials in Oakland, which has reaped about $1 million a year in tax revenue from Harborside, are planning to join DeAngelo on Wednesday at a news conference decrying Haag's action.

I do. When I made the decision to become a vocal advocate in my county for MMJ I met some genuinely sick people who didn't want to take prescription opiates and chose MMJ instead. My wife is one of them as she suffers from chronic back/hip pain due to a work related injury. One of my colleagues at work used MMJ while undergoing chemo for the cancer he fought. Some of these people are too sick to grow their own. Some of these people are too poor to have land to grow or pay the utilities to grow indoor. As a result many people have to purchase through dispensaries and the Federal gov't is seeing to it that they get shutdown. Result? Local tax revenues go away and patients are forced to purchase their MMJ off the black market.
 
So you want "medicine" to be prescribed when its potency is unknown and unregulated by the FDA? Sounds legit.

I'm also 100% positive everyone with a medical card has legit health issues that would warrant the use.
 
Everyone on here that uses AAS genuinely needs HRT. Therefore, all UG labs are legit, uniform, and safe. I'll become a source and may become violent if people get near my lab so I can provide a legitimate HRT source because I know someone with low test and not because I can make a profit.

I got this guys.

I am not a fan of the FDA. That organization is in the back pocket of Big Pharma and Big Agra. So, do I want regulation? No...I hate my government as it is nothing but a bunch of thugs looking out for their own best interests and that of their corporate counterparts.

And to answer your 2nd argument, there are many bogus claims out there...just like in the pharmaceutical world where it's all too easy to get a script for "legal" opiates.
 
Agreed for the most part, but I don't see how anything should be prescribed unless there are uniform doses of the drug being prescribed. That would be a legitimate argument for the feds stepping in. If it's going to be applied to some drugs prescribed it should apply to all.

I also agree that pain meds are irresponsibly prescribed. Any place that's referred to as a pain clinic is nothing more than a glorified heroin dealer.

What you have my friend is a whole bunch of assumptions that you know nothing about. Becoming violent? Please. As a grower myself, we have been ripped on 2 separate occasions and a 3rd time was attempted until the alarms went off and they were scared away. Whose the criminal here? Me or the people robbing me? I don't own a weapon and so when I went outside to confront them, they themselves could have been armed.

We grow for my wife and one other patient. It's not a large plot and it occupies a small part of our garden...yet according to your assumptions, we're violent criminals that are only in it to turn a profit. You are incorrect.

Those tec-9's are pretty impressive. There's a gun shop/ range here that will let you rent guns to shoot in their range and they have a few fully automatic ones that are a blast. If you hold the tec gangster style with the side up, you can empty the magazine before the first shell hits the floor. Good for neighborhoods.
 
He's not growing it to attract criminals. If he was selling tv's or anything valuable it would attract criminals. That's just part of life.

I definitely have a heightened sense of awareness when I'm walking around the major appliance section of best buy. There are armies of somialian pirates staking out some of those HE washer drier sets.

I do not feel safe shopping at Best-buy. Every time I walk in the door, I am immediately under attack from people trying to get me to sign up for their new cell phone plan.

I live in an unincorporated area of my county that is very rural. The smallest plots in my area are 1 acre plots. We have 1.5 acres.
 
marijuana doesn't need to be uniformly dosed nev...it's not a synthetic chemical. Certain strains are some of the most anti inflammatory substances on earth. If this shit was legal all these little injuries that nag us for months would be done within a week.

These robberies happened 2 years ago and once I installed the surveillance cameras and alarms (and they triggered one and then bolted, they haven't been back) we've had no problems since. So what is your point? I'll say again...I have no weapons. Perhaps you missed that.

Are you saying that those of us who want to be left alone to grow in peace shouldn't because bad people want to rob us? Why aren't you condemning those people? Instead, you're condemning those of us who want to be left alone by painting us with a broad brush and stereotyping. Explain yourself or fuck off.

" I have a sleeping disorder, I have an eating disorder, I have chronic neck pain, I have chronic back pain, I have chronic body pain, I have chronic head aches". No you just want legal chronic stupid! I smoked from the age 13-28 and never once did it ever take any pain away.

I would not argue that. I will say this much regarding my wife. First of all, when she went for her recommendation she brought in her physician's notes recommending spinal fusion. She brought in her films of the crushed discs and hip degeneration. She brought in all the pain meds she had been prescribed.

It was actually me who recommended that she try MMJ as I was growing anxious just watching my wife sit there like a zombie under the influence of prescription opiates (not to mention my fears of the liver damage and possible addiction issues associated with them).

MMJ does not remove her pain. In fact, there are occasions (rare thankfully) where her pain is so severe that she has no alternative but to use prescription drugs.

I'm 52 and I stopped smoking weed at the age of 19 when I went into the military and I never picked it back up. I do however, support the cause, I speak for the cause, and I see people everyday that it helps.
 
I am with you Dave. I live in boulder and work for 3 mmj clinics. There are a lot of fakes like with all drug abuse. BUT there are people it does help a lot. Would like to see more people use thc. It's a lot better than those fucking oxy's and hydros everyone is on. And if you guys want to play with AK's move to the fucking ghetto. They love that game down there. Thc needs to be used by all aas users. Not to smoke it but to eat it. I can add an extra 1000 calories a day. Munchies. And the pain relief is unreal. Don't knock it till you try it.

Screw the medicinal program it should be legal for everyone, considering it's safer than any prescription drugs by far as well as recreationally far less harmful than drinking and smoking it makes no sense for it to be illegal

Agreed. One of my colleagues here at work is a volunteer firefighter/first responder. When I set out on my campaign in this county to fight the ban on outdoor cultivation he and I had an interesting conversation regarding marijuana. He is a very "religious" born again Christian with 20 years sobriety. He's pretty opinionated about drugs and alcohol but he told me, and I'm paraphrasing...
"In all the years as a first responder, I can't count how many overdose calls I ran on from prescription drugs, and alcohol, but I never had to respond to a marijuana related call."

I'm not. I'm taking test e at a low dose and tren was just incorporated. The pic is from back in December. I've seen your pic too. You look kinda "soft" kiddo. But I'm sure there's a lot of girls out there that like "love handles".

Well the medical journal just deemed it indefensible as a class one drug finally which was a hypocrisy in itself as there is a medical program but shit hope I see it legal in my time
