Drug/Supplement to increase fertility? (endometriosis)

Uber-Joey

New member
Hey all,

(figured i'd have better luck in women's section)

Wife and I have been trying to get pregnant for 8months now, she was diagnosed with endometriosis last October and got surgery to get it removed. Fertility doctor said to try for 6 months and come back. We've been trying to get pregnant since, with no luck.

What supplement or drug do you recommend to use to increase fertility? I've read about HCG and HMG which we can both take, but i'm not sure what everyone's experience has been and what side effects you've encountered.

She's had 2 miscarriages early in our relationship (which I was actually thankful for then) so hoping for no side effects.

I bet you'll have good luck with RottenWillow. She's the chick around here to ask about biological/scientific stuff. Endometriosis runs in the females in my family.. my sister was able to conceive, twice actually.. as for me, I have no desire to have children so I've never looked into it. Ask Rotten, I'm sure she'll have some info for you. :)

Well, it just so happens that a guy saw it. (1st thing on the iPhone forum). Wish there was a bulletproof answer, but there isn't. Unfortunately though IVF seems to be the main way to go. The 2 best non IVF options do have drawbacks.

For men, increase vitamin C, E, and B12. Also raise your intake of selenium, zinc, and carnatine. These all aid in increasing sperm production.

For women, it's Clomid. This will force ovulation, and allow eggs to be released. Increased sperm and eggs allow the greatest chance of natural conception.

Now, the downside. Clomid will almost certainly result in multiple egg releases, as well as multiple fertilizations. If you want to do it naturally, you either:

1. Accept the fact that you may have multiple births. (It's not uncommon for triplets or quadruplets either)

2. Allow multiple embryos to implant in the uterus, and then selectively have (x) number removed.

Now PLEASE don't flame me for those options. The man asked a serious question, and I gave him the best answer I could. That just so happened to include tough medical decisions that would fall on him and his wife, should they decide to go that route.

Why would you be flamed? Thank you for your contribution.

Why would you be flamed? Thank you for your contribution.

Because of option 2, which is essentially considered a very early 1st trimester abortion. I tried to offer suggestions that medical professionals themselves are going to offer in this situation, and just didn't want to get flamed for opening up a pro-life/pro-abortion debate. I also don't want it turning into this for Uber-Joey.

Please keep this civil for his sake. I can only imagine what it must be like having to go through this, as my wife and I are trying for our 1st as well.

Hey just ask Larry Flynt. Freedom of Speech. I can't speak for others but I myself am not offended nor am I goin to "flame" you.

That means a lot knowing a woman isn't going to flame me for that. BTW psizzle, nice transformation. I love your arms!

Wow, great - thanks everyone. I gave up on this thread didnt think anyone would respond!

Jester, is clomid taken at anytime after menstrual cycle? Or is that only taken when ovulation is occurring?
