: To whom it may concern:
: I'm am a 17 year old Football player who is corcerned over tution for college. I have been traing with weights for a little over 3 years now.
: I bench press 280lbs and squat 450lbs. I am 5'10 and a solid 190lbs. The problem is this. I come from a low income family, and i myself work 6 days a week. I am an exelent player and many college coaches say that if i could gain 25lbs or so that I would have a chance to play Division 1.
: The Point is this. I NEED TO GAIN 25LBS! I've tried the dieting but just have too busy a schedule to stick to it. I take already take a preworkout ephedrine stack
: and I load up on Creatine and other suppliments but it's just not happening. My strength goes up but my mass doesn't. If anyone has any suggestions that could help I would greatly apperciate it.

First of all, speed AND agility are the number one things coaches look for in a guy your size. Get a speed and agility workout from your team's coach (college not high school). Next, train like a bodybuilder. All you need to start are two things: Muscle Media 2000 February 1996 and July 1996.

In the February issue, there is an article by Dan Duchaine called 'The Body Contract Workout'. Read it thoroughly.

In the July issue, there is an article called 'German Volume Training'. Alternate these two workouts every three weeks.

Use strict form! Lighten the load if you have to. You may feel like a pussy, but your muscles grow better when you work the correctly.

Next, look for Dr. Barry Sears' 'The Zone' on book or audio. Use a search engine (looking up his name or book title) to find him on the Net. There will be a section on the webpage to send you stats (height, weight, etc.). You will receive an email within a day or two with what to eat. Or order Dan Duchaine's book 'BodyOpus'. It's basically the same thing.

Remember not to overtrain. Do plyometrics once per week. You'll screw up your knees doing any more. Also, remember to get a good night's sleep every night. Don't put any toxins in your body either (i.e. beer, tobacco).

I followed the advise I gave you above so I know it works. Going into my junior season in high school, I put on 20 pounds, benched 365 pounds, squatted 475 pounds, cleaned 285 pounds, and ran a 4.61 (from a 4.9) weighing 210 pounds (6 foot), and I was a lineman!

Lift like a bodybuilder, run like an athlete.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Good Luck,

Caesar
