: When i went off to college some 8 months ago i started training now i am going to be home for the summer and i want to put on allot more mass, but i need some help with my routine this is the routine schedule i used to get a base down. .
: tuesday-shoulders and back, squats
: thursday-chest and arms
: saturday-shoulders and arms, squats
: sunday-chest and arms
: I think this too much for me now it was okay when i started training, but now i am lifting allot more wieght. Feel free to leave a sample routine that would suit me. Also my eating habits are good i supplement 100 grams of whey protein a day to my regular 4 meals a day.
Jack your protien up to 1-2 grams per pound of body weight.
Also this two workout split is too frequent. You are giving your body a chance to re-cover form the workouts.
Try something like this:
A: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
B: Back, Biseps and Traps
C: Thighs and Hams
D: Off
Repeat, the day after I do squats I'm totally fried and need a break, this 3 day split will give your body time to recover but is frequent enough to cause a gain in lean mass.
Revampt your routine in a couple of months for variety.
You could try:
A: Chest and Back
B: Thighs and Hams
C: Arms
D: Off
repeat.
remember variety is key, but it prob. would be best to stick with heavier Freeweight basic movements like, squat, bench, military press, chins, bent rows etc.
Good luck
