I'm kicking back and watching the BCS National Title game tonight between Oregon and Auburn. It's been a pretty good game so far, but not the offensive explosion that I was expecting. Adesso, Auburn is leading Oregon 16-11.
Anybody who is watching right now is probably just as surprised as me that neither team has been able to run the ball. Oregon and their star running back LaMichael James (1,682 yds, 21 TD's) have just 38 yards on the ground; James has 18 yards on 5 carries. infatti, teammate Kenjon Barber has more yards and carries so far (7 car., 27 yds.).
On the other side of the ball, Cam Newton has just 7 yards on 10 carries (1,409 rushing yds. in 2010) after gaining an unbelievable amount of rushing yardage for a quarterback this year. Finora, both teams have went to the air with Newton throwing for 186 cantieri, 2 TD's, and one interception in the first half while Oregon's Darron Thomas has 194 yards through the air, 1 TD, e 2 Int's.
I hope the offense picks up in the second half since both teams combined for 92 points per game during the regular season. I predict that Auburn will pull away in the second half and win 45-34.
