A cheap and effective new synthetic human growth hormone called Omnitrope has just been approved by U.S. authorities for use and will provide a huge boost to the amount of HGH that is available throughout the country.

Patterned after the Pfizer Company’s version of HGH, Genotropin, and Serono’s version called Saizen, Omnitrope has been labeled by many as a “copycat” biotech drug. In plain English, this means that Omnitrope replicates the complex proteins that are present in pure forms of HGH.
What’s got people really excited about the development of Omnitrope is its price. The purchase of human growth hormone can get very expensive, especially if the person buying it is not using HGH for its intended purposes. Some people spend as much as $2000 a month to use human growth hormone. Agora, with Omnitrope, people seeking the drug will enjoy the benefits of a 25% reduction in price from the other brand name forms of HGH such as Humatrope, Nutropin, Protropin, and Somatoropin.
Another impressive thing about the drug is that it is the first one of its kind to actually pass the FDA’s rigorous standards – something that no other copycat biotech drug has been able to do up until this point. This benchmark event was aided by the lawsuit that Sandoz, the generic drugs division of Novartis, brought against the FDA for refusing to make a decision on Omnitrope. The lawsuit ended when a federal judge forced the Food and Drug Administration to make a decision on Omnitrope’s future.

Now sitting on the hot seat to make a decision, the FDA chose the same path as the drug authorities in Europe did and approved the product. Omnitrope has already been launched in Europe and will soon become available in the U.S. também. This spells out good news for bodybuilders who use HGH in order to enhance their physiques because they will now not only have another alternative form of human growth hormone, but one that comes at three-fourths of the price too.
But just because Omnitrope is a synthetic version of HGH doesn’t mean that state authorities will be any easier on punishments dished out to those who are caught using the drug for purposes other than its traditional role of increasing height in children with stunted growth. Bodybuilders, as well as other athletes, will still be forced to seek Omnitrope from various alternative sources. And one of these sources can sometimes be anti-aging clinics, which leads us to another group of people who will be happy to see a more affordable version of growth hormone.
The middle-aged and elderly, whose insurance’s won’t cover the cost of HGH for anti-aging purposes, will no doubt benefit tremendously from Omnitrope’s availability. Using HGH for anti-aging reasons is no more FDA approved than using it for bodybuilding but that still won’t slow anything down as many physicians simply write human growth hormone prescriptions for off-label purposes. It is this loophole in the system that has helped HGH to experience a major boom in the anti-aging industry along with its proposed betterments of improving a person’s cardiac function and memory.
While there are some doctors and physicians out there that dispute these claims, Omnitrope’s use could still skyrocket since it is a moderately priced alternative to other brands of HGH. And it is this relatively inexpensive cost that has many believing that the drug could be on the verge of becoming one of the biggest newcomers to both the bodybuilding world and the anti-aging industry.
Contudo, only time will tell if this statement comes true as the drug hasn’t really had much time to prove its worth. Many wonder if Omnitrope will really ever go mainstream as it will have to compete with the older and more established HGH drugs on the market and thus will have a tough time aligning with any major insurance plans. If it can’t jump onto the list of some of the major insurance plans, its 25% cost advantage will be nullified. But this certainly won’t keep bodybuilders and those wishing to turn back the hands of time from dreaming about what the drug can do for them.
Whether Omnitrope can compete with the major HGH brands in relation to helping kids grow remains to be seen. One thing is for sure though, and that is that the drug will already have a large fans base in bodybuilders and those seeking a fountain of youth.
