I recently did a post about how the army is being investigated for suspected steroid usage, and it got me thinking about some of the interesting training methods they use to get in shape. Now I'm not advocating that you give up your normal routine in favor of a military workout program, but it's nice for a change of pace.
One workout I came across went like this:
Do as many push-ups as possible in 60 seconds
Do as many sit-ups as possible in 60 seconds
Do as many pull-ups as possible in 60 seconds
Run 2 miles as quickly as possible
Swim 100 meters nonstop
Walk for 3 miles with a 30-pound nap sack
If you're not used to this kind of training, this would be intense; however, I'm always looking for something new to try, and this military workout is definitely something I'm interested in.
One thing that I think I'll cut out is the 30-pound nap sack walk because I don't want to be looking like a hobo walking around New York City with a sack on my back. Other than that though, I think I'm ready to do one of these workouts next week.
