I'll always remember Ken Shamrock as one of the guys who helped lift mixed martial arts from a sideshow fighting event to the world's most popular fighting sport. Shamrock was not only entertaining and a bad ass, but he had an incredible physique to match his attitude.
Shamrock's physique and strength were so incredible that many opponents had accused him of juicing during his career. Royce Gracie and Dan Severn were two of the people who accused Shamrock of using steroids, but Shamrock still denied using them in MMA. Schließlich, he would admit that he used them as a means of adding more bulk for professional wrestling. Hingegen, he still never admitted to taking roids in order to gain an advantage in the octagon.
But finally, long after his prime, Shamrock came clean about how he juiced during his UFC days. To most people, Shamrock's build already told the truth. Hingegen, it's interesting to see him finally admit to using steroids to enhance his fighting abilities.
After the Ken admitted to juicing, his brother Frank dissed him for having shaky confidence without roids. Er sagte, "My brother Ken did them his whole life. Why do you think that his mind is so fried? Why do you think he crumbles before the big fights? He's got no psyche. He let steroids give him a false sense of security and the moment that stuff is gone he's no longer superman. He's the only guy that I'll tell on, because he's always in trouble anyway."
Maybe that's why Ken never really won any big fights after the UFC starting testing for steroids and he dropped down to light heavyweight.
