I know this doesn't have anything to do with bodybuilding, but I wanted to talk about warming your car up during the winter....or rather not warming your car up. Jahrelang, I've subscribed to the myth that you need to warm your car up before driving it in the winter. Hingegen, I just read an article that basically made all of this out to be a myth.
Im Grunde, the article says modern day fuel injection is so much more advanced today that we don't need to idle cars. tatsächlich, the only reason why you would need to idle a car is to get the oil circulating. If you're looking to warm your car up, driving it is actually a quicker and better way to do so.
What's worse is that idling can actually hurt your car and cost money in the long run. Letting your car warm up reduces engine performance and mileage longevity. As far as costing money, the article I read gave a figure on how idling can cost over $60 when everything is said and done.
One more thing worth mentioning is that idling hurts the environment as well as your health. Alles in allem, I don't think that I'll be letting my car warm up anymore!
