Here's something I've never thought about before: Australian rules football and steroids. Selvfølgelig, I've never really watched the sport much before either, except for maybe a few times on ESPN 2.
Anyways, what's brought this whole thought up is that I saw where a Western American Football League player by the name of Dean Cadwallader was suspended for two years after testing positive for nandrolone. Cadwallader plays for the Royals (East Perth) football club, or at least he did before getting suspended.
After being busted for roids, the footballer said, "I would like to acknowledge my actions and express my regret for the disappointment I've caused to a lot of people. I'd like to apologize to my family, my teammates, the East Perth Football Club and its staff, its members and our supporters. There is no excuse. I've made a huge mistake and I'm going to pay the price for that mistake."
Relating this back to the sport as a whole, Australian rules football does involve a high degree of physicality since it's somewhat like a combination of US football, basketball and soccer. So juicing to improve one's strength and performance could definitely help somebody be a much better player here.
