Though he may be 63 years old and long past his prime, Arnold Schwarzenegger is still a legend in bodybuilding. And this fact hasn't gone unnoticed by young Afghans, who currently see Schwarzenegger as somewhat of an idol.
The International Business Times did a recent story on the Afghanistan bodybuilding craze, which I've discussed plenty of times before, and they're also huge Arnold freaks. Here is a look at some of what was written:
The gyms in Kabul are shabby and primitive by Western standards, but more are planned to open this year and next.
Schwarzenegger’s bulging biceps will likely adorn the walls of those facilities as well.
Reportedly, young Afghans also admire the disgraced ex-California governor because of his success in business and films, as well as politics.
It's doubtful that Afghans also admire him for the affair with Maria Shriver, but his business, movie and political accomplishments are definitely impressive for somebody who came to the US as a little-known Austrian immigrant.
