Everyone knows that politicians will sway to whatever side of the fence that they think gives them the best shot at winning an election. But the people involved in the 2008 presidential race have done far more than simply sway one way or the other on the subject of steroids. They’re against it big time and it could mean terrible things for juicers over the next 4 anos.

I’m not going to sit here and BS you with regards to my interest and knowledge of politics. I’ve just never really been that into following what goes on in Washington D.C. and will only vote in the more important elections. You will not see me throwing people out of my way to get to the polls and vote on issue #154. You will not catch me spending an hour watching CNN with my grandma trying to brush up on political happenings around the world. And you certainly will not witness me Googling potential Vice President Sarah Palin’s name (unless it’s to find pictures of her when she was younger of course!).

Basically I’m not going to lie and try to make myself sound more sophisticated by pretending to be into politics when I’m not. Contudo, when it comes to the issue of steroids and what politicians are doing, I’m always up on what’s happening on Capitol Hill as well as the rest of the world. That’s because the last thing that I want to do is have me or a good bro be uneducated on new steroids laws and go down big time.

And as far as politics go, I’ve never been more in tune with a presidential election in my life. Looking at both sides of the fence, it’s almost like picking your poison because let me tell you, the candidates on both sides aren’t playing around when it comes to the issue of steroids and people’s rights to them. These candidates are not exactly educated on gear and they’re totally biased against the whole deal.

Let’s start with the presidential candidate on the Republican side in John McCain. Many of you may already know how he operates with regards to roids as he’s been staunchly against them for years going back to his days as an Arizona senator. McCain has often touted how he is a sports nut and relishes the chance to see a boxing match or baseball game. But along with this seemingly innocent love of sports, he’s also professed many times how he thinks that steroids ruin the integrity of sports and will stop at nothing to make sure that roids stay out of athletes’ bodies. Even if that means fighting to impose harsher laws on juicers from all walks of life.

de fato, by fighting so fiercely against steroids, McCain truly believes that he is saving the world of sports from steroids. He was a key figurehead in admonishing the BALCO scandal and used the incident to get all of the face time that he could to promote himself. The controversy with baseball, Barry Bonds, and a whole host of other players: The same result! John McCain used these events to grab more camera time to get his name out in the public as much as possible and supposedly “save sports”.

And I can still remember back in 2006 when I predicted how John McCain would use the BALCO and Major League Baseball controversies to fuel a strong presidential run in 2008. And his presidential run has indeed been strong with him switching back and forth with Barak Obama in the pre-election polls. The mention of Barak Obama brings me to another person in this election that really means bad things for juicers and that is Obama’s running mate Joe Biden.

Many people had never even heard of Joe Biden before Barak Obama picked him as his Vice President candidate. But after Biden became one half of the duo looking to upstage McCain and Palin’s march to the Whitehouse, he’s been on the news quite a bit. And not a whole lot of it has been positive as people have attacked his ultra-conservatism even though he’s a Democrat. To be honest, Joe Biden is far worse for steroid users than John McCain could ever hope to be as he makes McCain look like a saint.

If you’ve ever wondered who was the driving force behind making steroids a Schedule III drug you will wonder no longer as it was indeed Joe Bidden. Agora, because of their Schedule III status classifying steroids like morphine, GHB, Special K and opium, a person can go to jail for a whole year just for possession of anabolic steroids without a prescription and they can go to prison for 10 years for dealing steroids.

But Biden didn’t want to just stop at pushing to make steroids a Schedule III offense as he also wanted to take money that the American government had sat aside for international aid and instead use it to bolster efforts to sweep through other countries and arrest international drug dealers. Great idea: Use the money we send to help out other countries and make them like us to instead run through their country with armed DEA agents looking for drug lords. All the while making the residents of the country hate the United States even more for doing as they please in foreign countries.

Similar to McCain, Joe Biden is also totally against the usage of steroids in sports and will stop at nothing to make sure that as few athletes are juicing as possible. Even if this means taking away the rights of average, everyday citizens to use steroids cosmetically - even under a doctor's supervision - in an effort to build the best body that they possibly can.

At least there’s some relief with Barak Obama and Sarah Palin in regards to steroids as neither have used the issue to build up their political credentials. About the only reference between steroids and Sarah Palin that I’ve ever heard is the comment made that she’s “Dan Quayle on steroids”. Obama has been pretty light in his stance on roids too but that doesn’t mean there will be any overall relief for juicers.

No matter who gets elected, whether it be Obama or if it’s McCain, you’re still going to have a steroid hater in one of the top two governmental positions in the United States. Some might say that the scenario where McCain gets elected could be worse because he would ultimately be the President of the United States. On the other hand though, Joe Biden has had an even worse record opposing steroids in the past than McCain and we’ve all seen how much power a Vice President can hold ever since Dick Cheney tagged along into the Oval Office with George W. Bush.

But no matter who gets the Presidential nod, I think that steroid users could be in trouble either way. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a potential President or VP as fiercely against steroids as McCain and Biden are. And who knows what will happen to steroid laws when the 08’ presidential election is over and either one gets into the Whitehouse. All I know is that I’m really divided on where I will cast my vote as both sides of the ticket present a lose-lose situation. Thankful that both McCain and Biden aren’t on the same ticket otherwise we’d really be F---ed.
