do PS 1 controllers work on PS2?

how bout non sony brands as well?

I don't know about the non Sony ones, but my Dual Shock 1 from my PS1 works fine on my PS2. I don't know if it is pressure sensitive like the PS2 controllers.

All PS1 controllers will work with the PS2, but not all functions work. I think the big difference is that the PS1 controllers lack the L3 and R3 buttons.

They do work, but the buttons are not pressure sensetive
