t3 induced hairloss

guys, has anyone experienced hairloss from going hyperthyroid from taking t3

im shedding like crazy, but i cant work out if the t3 induced metabolism increase just means that my normal rate of hairloss is speeding up, or whether the t3 itself is causing an inflamation or telium ethelium or whatever.

i was low on natural thyroid hormones before, so i am also wondering if the t3 is just causing a natural regrowth, pushing out the old hairs.

any ideas,

cheers

telium ethelium lol? (telogen effluvium)

when thyroid levels change drastically up or down, it can cause transient hairloss.

hyperthyroidism can cause hairloss.

^^ should be reversabile once levels are stabalized.

to further confuse the issue, Levothyroxine is named in a lawsuit alledging that IT causes hairloss.

I agree with Mava, hyperthyroidism can induce hairloss. Once taking T3, it takes 2 - 3 weeks before you levels stabilize. If you still experiencing hair loss at this time, you may want to reduce the dose.

cheers guys,

is the hairloss dose dependant: what i mean is, if even a small amount will cause hairloss, one might as well up the dose and just deal with it.

Sparse hair is actually a sign of HYPO-thyroidism (LOW thyroid).
Hair loss is not a known effect of thyrotoxicosis.

its a documented effect of sustained HYPER - and also of flux from one to the other. mechanisms may be different.
