I posted this yesterday but took it off since I did not know if DA would want everyone to know. But I saw it posted on another board by a mutual friend of ours so here it is Dark Angel who is a member here was in a collison with a Tractor Trailer while out of town for a family reunion. She is the one who is BIG into cycling. She is in bad shape.     | ||

Oh my gosh, that is so sad! I wish her a strong recovery. I'm sure it's going to be a long recovery but I sure hope it all works out well for her. Thank God she is still with us. | ||

How tragic!!!Please let her know that she is in our thoughts and her prayers! She is in for a long recovery and will need of alot of love and support. I've read her posts, that is how I know her, but I like to think of everyone on this board as family. Please keep us updated-send her my love. | ||

Damn. Do you think it would be cool if you e-mailed me her hospital addy so I could send a card or something? And when she is ready to get back on the horse again I'll have a killer recovery cycle planned out. My buddy got hit from behind on his Harley, pins in his legs, plate in the scull, punctured lung, so many broken bones they figured he would never walk. Shit! He is benching 315 for reps. Can walk, ride and but heads with the best of 'em. We did have him on our own "therapy" in addition to all the stuff the docs had him on - which was nothing more than pain killers. Not one damn thing to help recover and build the damaged muscle, tendons, and ligaments. WTF! ------------------ Lobo | ||

I really don't even know what to write..this kinda thing is really tragic...and to somebody so young is even worse! I wish her speed in her recovery and I hope we'll hear from her again on the board. I pray for her mental and physical strength in the tough times ahead.

I have tears in my eyes as I hear about her accident. This has been a really tough few weeks with a fellow student(I study aviation) dying in a private airplane crash. This should make us all appreciate fragile human life and everything and everyone we have. Please give her as much positive energy and love as you can. Thank God she's still alive even if it may be a long road to recovery. Our thoughts are with her... and to everyone else - please be careful! | ||

Am sorry to hear about her accident. She going to have a lot to deal with in the next few months and for someone so young and pretty its going to be extra hard. She needs a lot of love and support right now. Tell her to keep a positive mental attitude and keep her mind on getting better. Everything else will work itself out. Well I have some news not much but some. DA is in route to PA. from New York to start the rehab process as well as starting the fitting process for her lower leg attachment. The accident took place a little over 2 wks ago and boy do they move fast. I don't understand how they can do much without a lot more healing time but I guess the majority of rehab will be mental first. I will keep in informed as I am informed. DA has to date shown remarkable strength and courage and she has told me she cannot believe the support and prayers she has received from all the members and how much it means to her. She does not have much immediate family in New York. Anyway this is the latest update. | ||

I read the beginning of this thread back on 10/20, and still can hardly think of what to say. Corny as it sounds, I have been thinking about DA every day since I first read tnheygirl's post Friday morning. There's not much way I can offer any condolences to her, since I won't even pretend to be able to imagine what this is like for her. I think everyone here really prizes his or her mobility, else we wouldn't excercise the way we do. Really, I think that's at the heart of what motivates "fitness oriented" people. And that's why I find the news about DA particularly sad. I hope she has enough people nearby to give her the support she needs, and hope her Docs made--and will continue to make--the right decisions for her. |
