Welcome to the first in my series of "please someone pay attention to me and keep my name up high in the board" articles. ENJOY!

Ok, silliness aside, as I pummeled my quads into smoldering lumps of goo, I got a little philosophical and deep. A little self examination went on, and I got to thinking about "Why the hell do I do this?".

Now I remember all the things I (face it, "we") say in the beginning. "For my health" and things like that, but I was being brutally honest with myself and I came to a few conclusions...

* My health is at BEST secondary to me. Obviously I dont have a death wish, but Im not exactly "natural" you know...

* If my liver shriveled up to the size of a cashew, I wouldnt care so long as I looked good ( but being ugly makes that a moot point kikass: nyah nyah)

* I may never feel I am big enough.

* It may in all actuality be the journey that I enjoy, and not really be about getting to any specific point where I feel Im where I want to be (physically).


So what about you? Has anyone who has been at it for years still maintained the feeling that they do it for their health before any type of love of looking good, or getting looks from others? Lets hear it!!!

(Lobo & Bikinimom: Well, week 2 of the leg extensions experiment is done. I skipped squats entirely and warmed up on the bike for 15 minutes. Jumped into Angled leg presses... warmed up with 650 for 2 sets of 15 (deep!), felt good. 750 for 12 and still going way deep, ended up doing 900 for 8 red faced spit drooling "hey whats that big vein on yer forehead" reps, and due to the inspiration provided me by the wise WarLobo, supersetted extensions. Did the stack (250) for 3 lovely sets of 12, then dropped to 220, then to 180... it was akin to a near-death experiance, on the last rep i saw a light at the end of a long tunnel and a host of seraphim beckoned me to come to the light. I took a step toward it and crumbled into a throbbing lump on the floor. Beautiful!!! Im laying off of squats for a few weeks, that was just too good!)

Like I said, Monster, bring a bunch of brown paper bags to cover your face this weekend....I can't stomach the ugliness in your face.....now, your body, you can keep that uncovered......it's all about sex....

Mabye a pillow case would be better? I wouldnt want the crinkling of a paper bag on a pillow to keep you awake...

So Monster, you took up the ol super set of presses and extensions.... very impressive. HOWEVER, I give you the ultimate, quad killer: Death Presses.

Do just like you did on the press and extension, except on your last set of presses, say your fourth or fifth set, put on 90 less than your top weight. You will need a spotter. Now do five reps and have your spotter remove ONE 45lb plate, do five more, spotter removes one more plate, so on and so on.... I've gotten to 76 reps.... And a round of applause from just about everyone in the gym.... no shit. Had the wife pulling plates and counting out loud. It is a good work out for her too! Of course I go all the way down to the rubber stops - feet in a slightly wide stance. You will hit every muscle fiber - and feel it the next week!

Only do this once every three weeks at best and only while your ON!!

Shit, my legs are so damn tight and sore today, its like heaven. I havent been this sore in a long damn time!
