The problem is, no one really knows in the clinical world. Regardless of what you are doing with AAS, you should use another form of non-hormonal contraception. The real problem is that if you become pregnant while on AAS, you could masculinize a female fetus. Since no one knows if the AAS will interact with the BC pills, it would be best to avoid any risk of becoming pregnant. If you are on AAS while you are on the "off" cycle of the BC pills, then the BC pill cycle is not going to work as designed and the effects of this are unknown. If you must use AAS, get off the pill and use another form of contraception. Mixing them makes no sense. Oral sex and a vibrator would be the safest from a pregnancy standpoint. F1hybrid

From a more practical side, of the many women I've had communications with, I have NEVER heard of a women getting pregnant while on BC and AS. Heck, I've never even heard of a case from a friend of a friend who knew someone who got pregnant. In most cases the AS will interrupt the M. cycle as well. You may retain a bit more water, but that's about it. F1 is correct in there being no clinical info, but then there is really no info for women and AS period. ------------------ Lobo

WarLobo: Check out the female to male transsexual lit. (I'll try to find the citation, but its probably buried in a pile). Anyhow, female to male transsexuals can still ovulate while taking high doses of T but may not menstruate. There was also a female on another board a while ago that was on an AAS cycle and became pregnant. While its probably very unlikely and I have talked to some women BBs who follow body temp while on an AAS cycle and there's no indication that they are ovulating, I'd still recommend other forms of BC. It may only happen in 1:100,000+, but it would suck to be the one, or the one's fetus. F1hybrid |
