On Tuesday, I'm having surgery to put in implants(no, no those, dental). During pre-op testing I needed cardiac clearence because during the bone graft procedure they discovered a "bundle Branch block". Any way, the cardio guy noticed I work out and asked if I take "hormones". I said no. Then I asked "What if I did? Would it effect my heart? " He said sure... I didn't want to pursue this with him, but do any of you know the relationship between cardiac problems & AS?? As you all know, I've done deca, sust, primo. Does this effect the cardiac muscle also?? Don't think anyone would disagree that roids effect every muscle in the body. That being said, this takes years of usage IMHO to damage the heart. Most folks are already predisposed to heart conditions and this by far is the most significant factor. Plain old genetics is our best and worst friend. Oh, when doctors say "hormones" they damn well mean steroids. This is quickly becoming the politically correct way to broach the subject with out the negative connotations of using the word steroids. And for once I agree, at least they are now talking a bit more openly about it. ------------------ Lobo

I agree with WarLobo. It is most unlikely that the AS you've been using at the doses you use would have caused this problem. Adult males walk around with 10x the test of normal females, but they don't all get bundle branch blockage! In CHRONIC HIGH doses AS can cause all sorts of cardiac and other problems. AS does not directly affect the cardiac muscle because it has no androgen receptors. High blood pressure associated with AS use is the suspected to be the main cause.

The blood pressure was no problem -- 95/75. I guess this guy wanted to feeel me out about "hormones" I din't think it would have a negative effect because of the low dosages. And, I've never exceeded 9 weeks on and I wait 3 months to do the next. |
