Try going heavier in your weightlifting, if you're trying to build mass. Stick to basic compunds. Drink lots of skim milk.

I'm also a fan of Ipraflex/Ipraflavone. In some women it can be mildly anabolic, and has the added benefit of preventing osteoporosis. Something in the range of 1.5-3g per day (divided and taken with meals) is a good starting point. I've also had a couple of female clients use the sublingual pro-hormones with good results. The trick with these seems to be to divide them into tiny doses and take them every 2-3 hours around the clock. It takes a lot of dedication though, since to get the best results you should be taking them through the night as well. Of course, if you're competing in a drug-tested event these are no good, but otherwise legal. As far as diet and training, I think Extra has a good handle on all of that. Maybe she'll share her very informational website with us sometime?

Some may disagree with this but before I knew regular people could get AS I took 50mg per day of DHEA while doing aerobics and weight lifting and there was a definite difference in my body after I started the DHEA. It also upped my immune system, and made me horny as hell! Although I did have some extra facial hair appear. Actually now that I think about it I was hornier on the dhea than on the primo. Great Extra. There were a few broken links to fix (no photos ). This thread brings up the old probelm of what's legal? I think (not sure) that in NZ DHEA is not legal, but pro-hormones are. Not sure about that though. All I know is that 'legal' only makes sense when you have a particular government you're referrencing. Some things in NZ (like Ephedrine) are legal to import for your own personal use, but illegal to sell. DHEA may be in this category. I wouldn't recommend DHEA because, as Forest Gump would say, it's like a box of chocolates........You MAY get increased Test from it, but you may just get more Estrogen from it. Or more likely a combo of both. There really aren't a lot of good non-hormonal options for muscle gain other than those that WarLobo mentioned.

MS Out of curiousity - do you know for sure whether or not it is legal to import ephedrine for personal use? Cause if that's the case I'm going to get some of that - at least that will help with the fat burning.

What about insulin? Ive had good luck with it, clean and on cycle. Its not as dangerous as its made out to be, and you CAN use it and stay lean. Unless you dont like needles.

Ephedrine is no problem to import for personal use. It's the one 'banned' (by the IOC and therefore the IFBB) supplement I use. I don't think I could continue to work and train effectively close to comp time without it. And banning it for Bodybuilders makes no sense at all. Yet another oddity about BB becoming an olympic sport. I have no personal experience with insulin. A lot of the big guys at my gym use it, but they're also on lots of AS with it, and usually in a major bulking phase. I am intrigued by the idea of using insulin on a low-carb diet, but I'm too concerned with my own health to ever try it. I guess it is a 'legal' possibility Extra could consider.

Hey MS, Does the DHEA also increase estrogen in Men?? Thanks Pamela
Pro Bodybuilder Posts: 551 |
DHEA "allegedly" works to normalize the hormonal levels. It supposedly brings the estrogen to testosterone ratio into the correct balance for the sex of the person. (For women, higher estrogen, men higher testosterone). In men it has pretty much been a flop, and no one really reports good luck with it. Women have had good luck from it Ive heard, though!

There really is no way to know how a person (male or female) will respond to DHEA. Both sexes are converting DHEA to E or T under a feedback loop that does it's best to keep things in balance. Putting more precursor into the loop only makes a difference if that precursor was the limiting factor. In older people (post-menopausal/middle-aged) DHEA is often limiting so taking it supplementally may help. In young folks, DHEA is rarely the limiting factor in hormone synthesis so taking more may do nothing, may produce more Estrogen (if the body perceives a shortage) or more test. A younger male with naturally high test levels is more likely to experience increased estrogen from DHEA. Younger females of all ages frequently convert most of the DHEA to estrogen too. Older males are most likely to experience a test boost.

Yeah, MS, thats what I was trying to say (however mumbly I said it). Its effective for deficiancies, not to boost above and beyond. But if someone is experiancing a problem, they may well have a deficiancy of some kind.

What about things like Andor Poppers? For women. Or are all of the andro products pretty much a waste of money?

I don't think you should go down that road either.... Look all, and I'm speeking in general here to everyone. If you want steroid results then you HAVE TO USE STEROIDS! That's just the way it is. I'm sorry, I wish things were different and that we didn't run the risk of going to jail and all that shit. If you want to toss your money down a hole (lord knows I did for years) then by all means have at it. I'm not here to sell yas BS. OR, you can decide to do the real thing, e-mail me or another monitor, fine a hook up, and put some real mucsle on. That is the truth of it and it aint ever going to change. ------------------ Lobo

No prob LitOak, I KNOW your trying and learning and working and eating and this and that... It can be a tad overwhelming. Keep hanging in there. Your doing the right things by asking questions. That last post was to everyone in general cause I do get so many folks who think they will get the "advertised" results from taking this or using that. I hate to see it... the look of shear disapointment when after doing damn near everything perfect and buying into hundreds of dollars worth of product, they (me included) wake up and see that it could have been done without spending a friking dime on. Yes folks, the snake oil business is alive and doing well ------------------ Lobo |
