Wife is going through a laser diode hair removal process. Guess it is kind of a new thing and will forever take away that unwanted hair. If all goes well we are looking at doing a few places, under arms, bikini line and the inside of her legs as she can get a rash sometimes from shaving. Just wondering what ya all do. I was even thinking about it for my back. It's not all that bad, just figured it would clean it up a bit.

Shaving has always been the easiest thing for me...I don't have too much trouble with it. I've never looked into laser treatments...but nothing else I've tried works well for me - the Nair, waxes, sugar's etc.

Oh and Lobo - I am just one big pimple right now...sigh...I'm seriously considering going to the dermatologist. I'm not all that hot on taking antibiotics but I've had super sensativity to breakouts since going of bc pills. Might as well use the insurance right?

First - cost, it is very $$$. You really need 4 treatments per area, and the hair must be dark. My wife is just going for her 4th for Bikini and underarm. It kills the hair and after a few days it just basically falls out. It takes 4 treatments because your hair grows in cycles (it all doesn't grow together) so you have to get it all. It feels like a burning when they do it. Get some CLEAR aloe to put on the area after. If you have the $ go for it.
.. but it does work, however I can't comment on longevity.

I shave(Mach 3 and Shaving cream) it, but only in the summer, tried wax once and only ONCE, FC is getting some sort of laser thing on her arm pits but I don't know what it's called.

Lobo, you're not supposed to shave, hair is an integral part of you're Italiano Machismo.

If waxing is done properly - it is not painful AT ALL. It leaves you cleaner for a longer period of time than shaving and there is no irritation, but alas, the hair does grow back.

Please let us know about this process and how safe/effective ($) it is.

IG/Fit Chic - let us know about your underarm thingie - same, safety/effectiveness and $.

My derm does the laser thing - we are way less expensive here than the rest of the country. I think the face is about $375 total, bikini line is a little over $200. She told me that the prices are double that in other areas of the country but when you are done the hair is gone forever.

The price is like 39.95 per session and you need three. The fourth if needed is free. This is a special they are running right now and is for facial areas. So the upper lip is like $120, the chin is $120 and I think each underarm is like $200 right now, so for like $1000 we can get just about everything done.

And just think of all the money, TIME and IRRITATION saved by not having to shave or do anything to have hair free areas!

She did say it was somewhat painfull, but they were in sensitve areas and it didn't last very long at all. Hey, I've seen how much fun plucking can be - OUCH

IG, of course I'm not going to shave or get everything removed - NO WAY, but I really hate the back hair - it aint even that thick, looks bad if you ask me.

I did the lazer hair removal thing 4 times on my upper lip and chin, and the hair is dark, I didn't get any results. It was a waste of my money!!! Hope it works for the rest of you. One day when I'm made of money I'll do electrolysis(sp?).

Since I started test or maybe as I get older I've been getting hair on my back two small patches right below my shoulder blades. I just shave it once a week (actually I get somebody to do it since I can't reach)

here is my .02

i just waxed today and am soooooo pleased. no pain, but you have to be careful no to wax off an eyebrow. i usually wax only eyebrows, didn't work too well on my legs before, but today i went for the neck, brows, and upper lip. i think all the primo is making me grow hair in unusual places. thank god it is blond. feels good too. as for the arms, i trim, and legs and pits (as IG calls them) i just shave daily. i figure it is easier than letting the hair grow all long and prickley. yuck.

anyone heard of NADS??? always see it on late night tv and think i will give it a try. so natural they eat the crey....huh

Tried the NADS didn't work for me. The hair has to be at least 1/4" long for it to work. So you have to let your pit hairs grow out to do it. YUCK!! Maybe you'll have better luck. Did get my money back, they really do have a money back guarantee. Try it you have nothing to lose but hair.

How's all the hair removal going?

I was thinking about getting my eyebrows done but want it to be permanent.

I would love to hear some success stories :-)

Shaving, without a doubt! I wont let the hair grow long enough for wax, and nair give me a rash and is tough on some of the "delicate" areas I shave .
Im shaving my head again, so that adds to the shaving load I must bear. I shave twice a day, every day. Head, face (I have a jaw line beard that I keep very close and need to shave to tighten up the lines), any hair on my arms, and my "delicates".
Its quite a work load, but I dont like to have anyone touch me and feel stubbly...
(hmmm, obsessive compulsive mabye???)

Man, what timing - I was just going to go get this thread.

I'm going into the docs this Friday to get by back done. It's not all that bad but it's on my lats and such. And the doc says it will greatly help the acne too. We'll see. I'll keep yas posted of course.

Well, it's $500 bones for the whole back. But since it not all that bad, she is going to do my uppper arms as well. Picked up the drugs this morning - I guess it hurts when they turn it up.... some numbing cream, wife says it works great.

You guys are gonna think I am absolutely retarded but I go to a middle eastern woman who takes my eyebrows off (not completely) with thread. I have no CLUE how she does it, however it works well! I was left with no other option since I am allergic to wax.

Try checking in salons in your area if you're interested. Usually this is done by people of middle eastern culture (Iranian, Isreali).

I tried waxing one time. It had to be one of the most painful experiences in my life. Waxing your arms and legs isn't bad. But when I got to my chest.. OH MY GOD!! It felt like the top layer of skin was being ripped off. When I was done I had little blood droplets on my chest. Wasn't the look I was going for. And it really didn't last much longer than shaving and wasn't worth the amount of pain I went thru. I may go for the electrolysis thing in the spring.

blackhaus1: I know exactly what youre talking about! My friend gets that done all the time, its pretty cool to see... its how they roll the thread between their fingers. It grabs the hair and pulls it out, he says it doesnt really hurt, either.
